A lovely boutique hotel with a bed & breakfast appeal to it. Delightful and attentive staff. Full of lovely and interesting antiques as decor. A close walk to the train, parks and shopping areas. The rooms are quite small. The staff gave us the option to upgrade to a larger room when we realized the size of our reserved room was too small for 2 people with large luggage. We took them up on the offer and the larger room was reasonably priced. The breakfast provides a nice variety of choices to accommodate all preferences. We enjoyed the town of Interlaken and our stay at the Hotel de la Paix.

Room tip: Rooms are small in size

For me, the best feature is that it's less than a five minute walk from the train station. With a Swiss Rail Pass we traveled to everywhere we wanted to go without having to fuss with getting to/from our hotel to the train. The hotel is in a residential neighborhood that was quite and peaceful, with grocery stores, restaurants and services very much at hand. The Standard Room was a bit cramped, but when we upgraded to the Comfort Room for a minimal charge, all was well. They graciously changed my duvet (which I hate) to sheets and blankets; then I was very comfortable. All the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful. The included breakfast was nothing special, but adequate, and comparable to most European three star hotels. We would definitely return for another stay.

Room tip: Go for the Comfort Room.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The rooms of the hotel was very small but cozy. Hotel has very small lift. The hotel serve free breakfast but it didn't have much choices. It is near to train station. Good choice if you are staying in Interlaken for one or two nights. For longer stay would not suggest this hotel. The hotel staff was friendly.

My wife and I stayed at Hotel de la Paix Interlaken for four nights in September 2017.
1. The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the West station. When you come out of the station, turn right and walk until you see the supermarket Migros. Turn left and walk straight until you get to the hotel located on the right hand side of the road. The hotel sign is at the junction of the road.
2. The staff are friendly and helpful and the hotel is delightful. We found nothing wanting.
3. Breakfast was more than adequate and is served on the ground floor near the lift.
4. We enjoyed our stay.
5. For those visiting Interlaken for the first time and coming from Zurich airport by train, you may wish to consider buying the Swiss half price voucher if you are staying for a few days and are planning to travel by train, boat and or public bus. You pay 120 Swiss francs per person and it is worth it. All your travelling is half price with this voucher which you have to produce each time you travel. The hotel, however, gives you a card which entitles you to free travel by public bus between Interlaken West and East. However, this voucher is not valid if you buy a tour from a private company such as Viator etc.

This is a purely delightful hotel and we enjoyed our two night stay here immensely. Our large, bright room had a large balcony with French doors that opened out to it. The magnificent view was of the Alps and cliffs where parasailing took place all day. The room was spotless and the pure white linens crisp and soft with high quality duvets. The armoire in the room was elegant like the antique upholstered Queen Anne chair. The ample bathroom had a window and a large, deep bathtub and shower. The hot water was abundant and steamy hot. The large mirror and countertop was convenient and the lighting excellent in the bathroom. Again, this area was white and spotless. Wash clothes are provided. A blow dryer is provided. An electric teakettle is on the table with cups and wine glasses. The large flatscreen tv is well placed in the corner. The room we had was no. 107. It was decorated with elegance. The owner's antique clock collection is a working museum all around you. Our room was quiet, the road outside is not busy at all. There is ample parking for guests just by the hotel as if you were in your own driveway. The beautiful gardens were full of magenta hydrangeas and fruit trees and a well maintained green lawn. The Comfortable lawn furniture was elegant, cushioned wrought iron, all immaculate. The bar was decorated in rich burgundy tones with upholstered chairs and served excellent beers and and wine. The owners and folks who worked in the reception and in the kitchen spoke several languages and English was easy to use. They were all very nice and accommodating for any request you had. There was the cutest alpine carved child's playhouse on the property that you have ever seen. A large carved wooden cat watches over from the balcony. The hotel is a block from a large super grocery and many eating places. Another block and you are on the main shopping drag and steps from the train station, which is free for local trips by using a card provided by the hotel. The area where the hotel de la paix is, though, is quiet and residential. There are large trees all around and clean sidewalks.-
All the houses around are three story, well maintained Victorian era elegant homes with attention to detail. The breakfast room is white linen and silver crisp elegant. Food is served in silver chafing dishes. Here is what was available, all you could eat, which we found excellent: the best scrambled American style eggs you could ask for, freshly cooked rice, muesli, strawberry yogurt, five types of fresh sliced breads, homemade raspberry and orange jams, two kinds of Swiss cheeses, two kinds of flat luncheon style meats, two kinds of cereal, milk, delicious American strong coffee, twinings English tea, fresh orange juice, watermelon slices, sliced tomatoes, very fresh flaky croissants and even more. It was a perfect start for the day. The cheerful breakfast room windows looked out on the garden. The rates of $160 to $180 for rooms like ours are an outstanding value for the location, balcony, breakfast, parking, elegant and clean rooms and gracious hospitality. I would stay here over and over again in Interlaken!
