This hotel is extremely convenient for the town centre (5 minutes from Interlaken West station). The rooms are wonderfully decorated and clean. There are good views out of the back of the hotel towards lake Thun. Of special mention is the lady owner and her daughter, two very helpful people. Breakfast was good and varied and the scrambled egg is recommended. Can't think of anything negative.

Room tip: Rooms at the rear have the best view

I was born and raised in Switzerland, but moved to the US in 1988. Trips home are not as frequent as I would like, mostly because of the cost. Switzerland is gorgeous, but pricey! Don't expect free coffee refills! Well, except at the Hotel de la Paix!
This little gem is in West Interlaken. 6 to 7 walking minutes from the train station, in a mostly residential area. From the hotel, 10 to 15 minutes will get you right into the thick of shopping and dining. The hotel is quaint, with a love for clocks! You'll take many pictures just of those displays. The rooms are small, but then again, you are in Interlaken to explore the town and region, not hang out in your rooms, right?! The only suggestion I do have for the management, is to put some area rugs down on the upper floors. The laminate flooring is very unforgiving on noise transmission. We were kept up on our first night by not so considerate upstairs guests, who seemed to run races up and down their room until 1 am. I still wonder who won.
They also have a laundry room, where you can get a few things washed and dried if needed. Again, this is a place that offers all the necessary amenities in an affordable way.
Breakfast is served 7 am to 10 am. Fresh "gipfeli" (croissaints) a variety of breads, cold cuts, cheese, scrambled eggs, Birchermuesli and more. A young lady brought the beverages to the table. Hot chocolate, tea or coffee, and yes, finally, free refills (on the good coffee at least). The lady at the reception spoke a good English and was very helpful. This is a great place to rest your tired limbs from skiing or hiking at a reasonable price.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights at its backpacker corner located at the fourth floor of the hotel separated with the other rooms by a door. Stayed in a room with shared bathroom. The toilet is located at the same floor with the room but the shower room is downstairs. So it is a slight bit inconvenient. Despite this the room is quite spacious but with no fan or air-conditioning. When i was there the room is quite warm during the late morning. Staffs are helpful and friendly.
Location of this hotel is quite strategic. There is a Migros nearby and it is near to the Interlaken West train station.

It was the first hotel that we stayed in Swiss. Room was classical, made of wood, and so big. bathroom facility was normal. Breakfast was nothing special, there were little kind of foods. But they served a kettle of coffee, milk. There was a station, Migros market near.

I stayed at this property for 2 nights and I must say that the weather was so hot and the hotel had no arrangements to tackle the heat (30 degrees C). There was no air conditioning neither they had a fan. They gave us a table fan on request but that still left us drenched in sweat. I requested for a second table fan and they said they had run out of those and were not prepared for this heat.

Breakfast options were poor. For vegetarians they only had some bread and butter and basic cereal. Being Switzerland I had expected to see some good cheese and fruits. In terms of service, I didn't find the staff courteous at all at their breakfast area. Every request felt like I was being questioned and they weren't very open to serving their customers in a good way. They had cut fruits in sugar syrup but since my mom is diabetic I requested them to give me some whole fruits and they said they didn't have any. So not only was the breakfast spread poor, they also had shortage of food and poor service
