Eating out in Interlaken tends to be expensive by general European standards, so we were pleased to find a restaurant which served good food while not breaking the bank.
The salads were particularly good, both as a main course and an accompaniment, and portions were large. The roast beef platter is particularly to be recommended. The array of local draught beers is another unusual attraction: a tasty light lager, an unusual stronger dark beer, and a naturally cloudy speciality called "Zwickelbier". The atmosphere is young (unlike us, alas!) and cheery, and the staff are exceptionally friendly. We would certainly recommend the Brasserie 17 to anyone visiting Interlaken.
