“Cozy & Wonderful B&B”
Reviewed January 15, 2014

I loved this place - right in the heart of Grindelwald, run by a very warm and friendly couple, who gave me great advice on how to explore the gorgeous mountains in the area. It's not fancy but has all the basics done well, and a terrific breakfast.

Room Tip: The rooms facing the street can get a fair amount of noise, especially on Friday and Saturday nights...

My husband & I stayed in this hotel in June 2013. The room was very comfortable, clean, light & quite modern.
We had a small patio which had a lovely view of the mountains & also of the cute rabbits which reside at this establishment.
The owners & staff were very helpful & accommodating.
A very enjoyable stay & so pleased that we chose to stay in Grindelwald, which was such a nice, pretty town.

Room Tip: I am unsure if all rooms have a view of the mountains, but if not, ensure you ask for one.

Stayed in this B&B for three nights in December and was given an apartment on the top floor. The room has an unblocked view of Eiger and there are little cottages dotting the snow-covered landscape. It is really magical. The owners are very friendly and warm which made the stay very pleasant. We were given a bus card upon arrival which allowed us to travel free on the local bus. The owners will also brew for you coffee, tea or hot chocolate during breakfast.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing Eiger.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The place is quite small, but very comfy. Our room had a magnificent view of the Eiger. (We stayed in the 2 bedrooms apartment.). Breakfast is also very nice, and the staffs are friendly.

I have already said it all about this fabulous hotel but will write again for the benefit of anyone who has not seen previous reviews. We stayed for 10 days at the Hotel Tschuggen in August and had another fabulous stay. We had our usual room with the wonderful south view to the Eiger which just can not be beaten. Robert & Monika always go out of their way to help and are really friendly. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the bedrooms are very comfortable. I have to remember to ask where the duvets come from as they are so light but keep you at the perfect temperature whether it is warm weather or cold weather. Breakfast is typically Swiss with so much choice - at least 3 very fresh breads and rolls, croissant, jams, cheeses, meats, fruit, bircher muesli, cereals, yogurt, eggs, juice, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. The hotel is right in the centre of Grindelwald about 10 minutes gentle stroll from the train station and a similar distance in the other direction to the cable car to First. it is really close to all of the restaurants and shops and the fun crazy golf course. if you stay for a few nights you get a pass to get in to the sports centre/swimming baths for free. Excellent - again - thank you :-)

Room Tip: if you can afford the small extra cost choose a south facing room with a view of the Eiger. not only...

Tschuggen Hotel is a fantastic hotel with only about 14 rooms. We (Me and my wife) stayed about a week, and have a room with a view of the Eiger mountain for 3 nights and experienced a stay for further 3 nights in a room with no balcony (limited view to the Eiger but still very good rooms, clean and well arranged).
Our stay was more than nice and pleasant and the credit goes to the lovely hosts (Monika and Robert). The hotel is a family run hotel and you feel that you get full attention and care in every request or help you need to ask for.
Absolutely one of the "best value" hotels in Grindelwald. We will be back there FOR SURE if we visit Grindelwald again.

This is a great small hotel with only about 15 rooms. We did not have a room with a view of the Eiger but you can see it most of the day when you are either in Grindelwald or travelling around so it didn't really matter. The hotel is a family run hotel and they could not do enough for us. Breakfasts were very good and run with typical Swiss efficiency while at the same time being very laid back.
A very nice friendly hotel.
