“Very generous portion!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2013

The food yet very salty to our own taste (it is apparently common in the German part of Switzerland) was very nice and served in generous portion!

“Railway station service!!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 2, 2013

First day of our holiday, we decided to meet up and have lunch at the most convienient place on the mountain. The restaurant Bahnhof at Kliene Scheidegg was we thought a good option.
Yes for location, ideal for skiers and non skiers as at the mid point of the mountain, with easy access for walkers, sightseers and skiers.
Maybe this is the problem, as they are more concerned with table turnover than service.
On entry we were told they were fully booked, but then a reserved sign was removed and we were offered a table sharing with six other diners(we were six also). On viewing the menu we were surprised the the expense of the food in what is little more than a railway station cafe. Our initial 'greet and seat' left a lot to be desired. Abrupt, and unfriendly without any warmth or hospitality from our elderly female host.
It was not just us, as we witnessed her treating following guests, who had booked tables with the same attitude.
As we had a table we decided to stay, and not try elsewhere, hoping the food would make up for the indifferent welcome.
The house special we ordered was actually reasonably good value, and when it arrived was tasty and hot. However the manner it was served was again abrupt, even we ordered a second round of drinks we felt we were being an inconvienience.
The poor welcome, indifference and service from the staff totally outweighed the reasonably good quality of the food. so glad to leave and enjoy the rest of the day ski-ing.

“Gets busy at lunch times . . .”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

This is a very handy place to visit but try to get here before 1pm as many of the ski schools stop then. The food is fresh, hot and served on huge plates. The hand made cakes are worthy of an award. Pricing is reasonable and location is handy. There are a number of outlets in the building, sit down restaurant, fast foods snacking, snaps hut bar out back, coffee and cake. Take your pick.

“Superb High Altitude Grub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013

An atmospheric busy buzzing venue with super food and fast service. I have been skiing for many years but Kleine Scheidegg with its position and colourful trains make it uniquely different, memorable and picturesque. To be able to enjoy a really good meal looking at the Eiger and the top of Europe is a wonderful experience. Not too expensive for mountain food and good sized portions.
