Above the village, from where it commands an extensive and splendid view of the Eiger and the Wetterhorn, is this exceptionally attractive hotel - a stone house with lovely balconies bright with flowers. It dates from 1899 but has been enlarged and renovated. The character of the hotel is relaxed, friendly and warm. The interior is snug, charming and tastefully decorated. The dining room, which looks fresh and new, is cozy and intimate and was designed for relaxed and easy comfort. Just beside it is a another cozy smaller room with handsome wooden beams across its ceiling - a room where we took our aperitifs. The hotel is run by a young couple, the owners, Gabriela and Gery, who put their extraordinary energy and hearts into making this a great place. They are on the job from morning until night - they make you feel at home, always smiling and helping to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable - everything seems to come natural and easy, not forced. Every feature of the hotel is run with thoughtful care and good taste. It is worth taking dinner at the hotel because the chef cooks up a tasty and interesting four-course meal. Far more interesting than the fare served up in many of the restaurants just down the street. Breakfast is also especially good - muesli with chopped fruit, sliced cheese and meat, good quality jam and rolls as well as different breads.
The Gletschergarten is truly a wonderful hotel - highly recommended,
Ann and Gabor Kato
