Since you can only reach the Grosse Scheidegg on foot or by post auto (the Swiss yellow buses that traverse the backcountry), few visitors get to see this beautiful corner of the Bernese Oberland. The best way to take the bus is east to west from Meiringen to Grindelwald. With a ticket you can get on and off, and it would be well worth your while to walk at least part of the trip, for example from Rosenlaui to Schwarzwaldalp, and then again from the top of Grosse Scheidegg down to Grindelwald. In June the wildflowers are incredible and the mountain views are overwhelming.
