What a beautiful hike! Deer, Ibex and the whole place to ourselves!

We drove to Noiraigue, and left the car in the free parking area near the information office, where we collected a free map. The signs are easily followed (provided you follow the walking ones, not the cycling - they go in different directions)!

From ferme Roberts to the Creux-du-Van, there was quite a lot of snow (in some parts up to mid-calf when stepping in other footsteps - deeper if you mis-stepped), but we managed with sneakers and wet feet.

At the top, the views are spectacular - we were lucky enough to have a clear day (you can check the webcam before you go) - and we had a small picnic. We saw some deer along the path, and 7 ibex walking along the fence at the top - who seemed happy to pose for photos!

We walked down via the hairpin turns, which were super slippery with all the snow and ice - we both fell a few times! I would recommend climbing up the hair pins, and descending via ferme roberts - it is less steep that way!

The whole hike took us almost 7 hours (including a long lunch, and lots of stops for photos and watching the ibex) - and the snow slowed us down quite a lot. We are in our 20s and trek quite often.

We had the entire place to ourselves (well, except for the animals)! I highly recommend this trip :)

We decided to be adventurous and rented e-bikes from Noiraigue. The cycling trip was unforgettable with the wonderful country landscapes and scenery. Reaching the Creuz-du-van was even more incredible. However we got lost while on the way back, made a mistake reading the map if not it'll be a perfect trip. =\

The hike from Noiraigue is hard, but well worth it. When you get to the top of the rim, and walk around toward the restaurant "Le Solait" for a fondue lunch outside on the benches, you feel like you've really deserved lunch. If the weather is slippery, or you're not up for the hike, drive to the restaurant but save at least 30-45 minutes for walking to the edge of the rim and enjoying the magnificent view.

Very nice view from up there and very impressive feeling when you walk along the Creux-du-Van which will take around two hours. If you are driving I would suggest to go up through Couvet and then go down to Saint-Aubin, if weather permits you will have a nice view on the Lake of Neuchâtel. There are a couple of restaurants up there though I would not recommend "La Ferme du Soliat".

We went here for a trek and got more what we came for. The view was breathtaking as we were literally atop the clouds, which gives you the feeling of walking on air. The trek is easy and would be enjoyable for children. There is even a restaurant in one of the jump of points that serves swiss fondue! What more can you ask for?
