“Very nice place!”
Reviewed May 20, 2010

We really enjoyed our stay at this B&B. Location is ok, about 20 minutes walk from the middle of the town. There's is an excellent restaurant (Eichof) close by. It was easy to park the car in one of the side streets close to the B&B (you can buy a permit from the front desk for 10 euros a night if I remember correctly). Our room was very spacious. We had the one on the top floor (in the attic). Actually, the room is on 2 floors. When you get in the door, you've got the bathroom. You then go up some stairs to access the bedroom. We really enjoyed our stay there and would have stayed longer. Breakfast was good. Staff (Andrea and Isabel) were very friendly and helpful.

This was definitely a good value for money. We got the room on the ground floor (across the dinging area) - although the bathroom was technically a shared one, since there is just one room on the ground floor we were the only ones using it. The room was cute and there was a nice garden / sitting area outside - i loved sitting there and sipping my morning coffee. Nice breakfast, great coffee. Very warm and friendly people - quite informative - Andrea was sweet and took good care of us. It is a short bus ride to the train station. I agree with the other reviewers - the floors are squeaky and walls are thin - we could hear the people in the dining room early in the morning, but we treated it as our wake-up call :)

My husband and I stayed on the second floor for two nights during a trip to Europe last year. There were three bedrooms on the floor, from memory, and two bathrooms. One large one, and one smaller one with just a shower. The rooms were simple but clean and warm. The only bad thing about the place was the incredibly squeaky floors!! Very loud! But the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us have the best time in Lucerne, The breakfast staff found some stale bread from the kitchen for us to take and feed the many swans at Chapel Bridge in town, which was fun.
If we ever return to Lucerne, I would happily stay there again. I spent a lot of time researching and found this to be the best value accommodation in Lucerne.

There were 10 of us in 3 rooms at The B & B. Definately the best thing about this place is the staff. Everyone was very firendly and seemed intent on making your stay as pleasant as possible. This is located outside of the main attractions in Lucerne, however, the bus is very easy to get to and runs very frequently. The bus ride brings you past beautiful old buildings so it was an enjoyable 8 or 9 minutes.

The rooms were pretty, though basic in furnishings. But, I woke up every morning to the sound of church bells and birds chirping and wondered how I could bring that feeling back home. We had to leave early our last morning so they prepared breakfast for us to get out ourselves.

The only "complaint" (and it is not really a complaint - more of a comment) is that the floors are very squeaky. I was not awakened by anyone else, but was concerned that when we left early our last morning that we probably woke up all the other guests.

If I ever get back to Lucerne I hope to stay here again.

We were in the attic room as it is only room where you don't share bathroom/toilet with others. You enter from the 2nd floor landing, and your shower room/toilet is at this level, up a further flight of stairs and you enter the bedroom (with sofa and TV).

It's a B&B so don't expect 4* hotel luxury, but its nice, Isobella and her mother, who was doing breakfast duty, were extreamly pleasant and helpful. The other rooms seemed to sleep 3 or 4 so seems more like a hostel, but its not, everyone we met was really nice and it seemed to cater for the older independant traveller.

Breakfast was simple but very nice. We got probably more than we expected for price.

Parking is on side streets, you buy a daily permit from the hotel.

You can get busses into town, but we walked each time. It's only 10 to 15 minutes and there were shops, cafes, bars to stop at on the way.

We stayed in the junior suite as we wanted an ensuite and all the other rooms are share bathrooms. I agree with other reviewers about the basic level of the furnishings but I think thats the style of the place. I was disappointed with the suite having the bathroom downstairs and the huge bedroom upstairs. I am not good with stairs and being very narrow they were a death trap at night. Also agree about the lack of fire escape-the first thing my husband looks for being a building certifier. Having said that the room was OK and we were'nt worried by the bells or by insects. We did have some problems with parking and one night had to park quite some distance away.
I have to give Andrea a gold star for being very very helpful and friendly-she made the place.

This B&B is probably a bit more like a hotel with 3 floors and hotel looking rooms. The place is immaculately clean and the hostess is a lovely lady and very helpful regarding planning your time in Lucerne. The B&B is a good 15-20 minute walk from the centre which is its only downpoint, apart from the shared bathrooms (1 per floor ) and no sink in the rooms. For the price Id say it is good value as Lucerne is quite expensive however. Breakfasts are very nice and can be eaten outside in the cute garden area. There is a fridge that can be used to self cater.
