“Diverse, Busy, with Crabby Tourists”
Reviewed September 3, 2013 via mobile

Yes, tourists were marking their spot to get a photo with the lion. That means, this place is a place you must see if you are in town, but be prepared to go through the pain of being surrounded by a very diverse crowd carrying cameras with crying children. Well, that includes me because I did get a photo with the lion while getting snide sneers because I was in someone else's way. You do learn the heart of Switzerland's political views, which, honestly it appears to be "playing both sides to profit from all while calling yourself neutral" but to each their own. P.S. the lion is smaller than you think.

“Sad but Beautiful”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

After walking all over the place--we didn't have the best directions to find the lion, even though it's pretty easy if you take the time to study the map. The Dying Lion is very moving--the story behind it is nice, but the artist did an incredible job showing the powerful lion looking so very sad as he lies there dying. Well worth the walk.

“A scenic and moving memorial”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

The memorial is quiet and well done. A good place to rest and reflect. Toss a coin in the water--- wishes made here come true.

“Beautiful”
Reviewed September 3, 2013

Nothing much to see except one huge carving into the face of a hill but worth a short visit. Very close to the city center so can do a small walkabout Lucern and visit it.
