Yes, tourists were marking their spot to get a photo with the lion. That means, this place is a place you must see if you are in town, but be prepared to go through the pain of being surrounded by a very diverse crowd carrying cameras with crying children. Well, that includes me because I did get a photo with the lion while getting snide sneers because I was in someone else's way. You do learn the heart of Switzerland's political views, which, honestly it appears to be "playing both sides to profit from all while calling yourself neutral" but to each their own. P.S. the lion is smaller than you think.
