Painted walls, cobblestone streets--old town Lucerne is charm, charm, charm. So much color, so much artwork. We tried to get lost on the streets--practically impossible. Walked around the old walls and just wandered throughout this charming city. There is a department store with a restaurant on top that serves fondue. We didn't hear that this was the local specialty until the last day and they weren't serving it at lunch so we missed out. But we didn't miss out on seeing the outdoor restaurant on the top of the department store. What a sight. Lots of tiled roof tops. And although it had been cloudy during most of our visit, the sun came out and we saw a sparkling lake.
