This hotel is a little on the pricey side but Switzerland in general is expensive.
When booking I thought it seemed like good value for money, not over the top.

The room was the biggest we had in Europe and the bathroom was big too which was nice. Very clean and modern. We only stayed one night and it was very pleasant. No free wifi so it was 3 francs for 2 hours or there is a Starbucks and McDonalds around the corner.

Staff were very nice and helpful, great location near the train station and close to the sites. No noise at all but if you wanted to open the window in summer it is noisy outside.

I would recommend staying here!

The hotel is right next to the train station, very easy to find and conveniently located. Staffs are friendly. Rooms are of decent size and clean, tidy, comfy in general. Breakfast buffet is included which is a big plus. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This hotel is in a wonderful location directly across from the train station, very easy to find. Also easy walking distance to the lake and the old town. We stayed for 2 nights, as tourists, and had a great room. Plenty of room, comfy beds and a big clean bathroom. Tea & coffee making facilities in the room and CNN on the TV. Electric shutters on the windows meant it was nice and dark, and good sound proofing meant very little street noise. Breakfast was great, a wide selection. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Only down is that you have to pay for wifi (12 hrs for 10 chf), however there is a free computer in reception area. Overall, would highly recommend this hotel. Very comfortable xnd good value.

We spent 3 nights in June of 2012. The room was very small consisting of just a bed, closet, bath and small table. Not much moving around space. That's the bad news but you really shouldn't be in the room that much in a city like Lucerne. Staff was very friendly and informative, the breakfast was very good and the wait staff attentive. The location is perfect across from the rail station and the harbor. Just a short stroll to old town.

Modern foyer and restaurant were a surprise after the charming period exterior, but so was the warm welcome for two weary train travelers ... and the lovely room. No problem pulling cases across the road from the station, and from there Lucerne on foot was a charmer. Usual city business folks shared the hotel's meals area, but tourists seemed welcome and our room was well set up and quiet. Would have liked the same cordiality at breakfast as provided by the very personable evening waitress, but things were a bit more austere (Germanic?) Overall, for a two-night, "see the sights" stay, Waldstatterhof was perfect.
