Nice museum and easy to get too as it is very close to the Chapel Bridge or the Bahnhof. If you like Picasso and Klee then this is for you.

This museum is well worth your time to visit if you like modern (post impressionist) art. It has a large collection of works of Picasso and Klee. I did not care much for the Picasso-s (the collection of the Picasso Museum in Paris or the Picasso Museums in Barcelona or Malaga are much broader and better). But the Klee collection surprised me. I knew his work, but this collection was much broader and richer than any other I have seen anywhere and I have seen pieces from periods and styles that I was not aware of before. There are also a smattering of Cezannes, Monets, Renoirs, etc. If you have time for just one museum in Lucerne this should be it.

What an incredible gift to have accidentally run into this place as I was strolling the streets of Lucerne! You'll understand Picasso as a man better than you've ever have before. I've only related to Picasso as an artist until I came here. This place changed my life and will be one of the special memories I will frequently visit in my mind as I continue this path of human discovery. Being surrounded by so much talent will ascend your mind and spirit higher than it was before you walked in. This place is a right of passage before you can truly calling yourself a Picasso fan.

I thought the collection was great, mainly for Picasso (entrance floor) and Paul Klee (top floor out of the building 3 floor).
All the art labels are not in English but some of the rooms had printed leaflets. For that, make sure to ask the front desk lady to give you the English extra info printed details of the gallery.
I personally found the photographs of Picasso while working and his photos with Angela Rosengart were intimate and lighthearted for a change than most existing exhibitions around the world for his work. My favorite was the photograph of Picasso working in his studio and then noticing that some of his pieces in the picture are featured in the same gallery!!!
Many other artists' works are also featured such as: Chagall, Marini, Monet, Leger, Braque, Matisse, Bonnard, Miro, Renoir, ... etc.

Advice: there is an interesting video played in the top floor. Don't miss it.

Tickets sold inside at 18 F. Of course, the minute you step in they ask you to place your cameras and all other belongings in the lockers.
The gallery is open daily and thankfully is wheelchair friendly.

A great collection of Picasso works and actual photographs. Centrally located and easily accessible. Has other artists as well, but really a Picasso and Klee collection.
