A beautiful hotel, easy access from train station. Neat and comfortable rooms and restaurant. The location is excellent, prime spot. The breakfast is very good with a beautiful view of the bridge. Friendly staff. We enjoyed every minute of our stay.

Located at the foot of the iconic Chapel Bridge and 10 minute walking distance form the train station. Breakfast included is excellent with a wide range of options. Staff were polite and courteous.

This hotel is very centrally located within old Lucerne, allowing you to walk to all the historic sites, and within steps of location for boarding lake cruises.

I stayed at Hotel Des Alps for 3 nights- I specifically booked a room with a chapel bridge view & balcony. The hotel is in a great location right across from the famous bridge and our room had two small balconies which were nice to enjoy the un-seasonably warm Swiss weather in October. The rooms however are very minimal and stark, I would have expected a more charming room since I paid for one of the most expensive options but all that gets you is the balcony. Granted, if you’re on vacation you don’t spend much time in the room but the hotel is in need of upgrades. Overall pleasant stay but would consider a different hotel for my next visit to Lucerne.

I have been staying at the Alps going on 10 years and it’s a wonderful place to stay. The rooms have been upgraded since my last visit. There is a restaurant on the ground floor(-1) and this is also where breakfast is served if you have it in your rate. There are rooms overlooking the lake which is nice. The train station is a easy 10 minute walk and the airport is apx 1 hour train ride. Luzern is a great place to stay. There are several mountains to see. As for eating there are many choices as well as the hotel. Enjoy!

The hotel is very conveniently located in the middle of everything happening in Lucerne. We arrived on the train, we walked outside of the train station and could see the hotel from there so it was a short walk across the bridge and we where there. It was a bit unclear whether the entrance was on the front or back side, we went to the restaurant side but we should have gone around the back. We could still get to reception using the front entry but it would have been easier not dragging our luggage through dining patrons.
Our room was on the first floor with a balcony and view of the chapel bridge, lovely but the cigarette smoke wafting up from the restaurants below was very unpleasant, I guess if you're a smoker this wouldn't bother you.
The room was quite large compared to a lot of other European hotels we have stayed at and the bathroom and shower area was also quite large and very clean.
Room has reasonable amenities, fridge, safe, coffee pod machine but the hotel has no air conditioning, so we found the room to get very stuffy. They did give us a fan which helped.
Biggest gripe about our room was the bed and the bedding. The most uncomfortable bed we have slept on by far on our trip. It was 2 single beds pushed together, felt very small and mattresses were extremely uncomfortable. The sheets that were on the bed were all pilled and rough to sleep on. Very unpleasant. This is the reason I can't rate this hotel any higher. A good nights sleep is so very important.
Breakfast was good. Muesli, fruit, meat, cheese, hard boiled eggs. A nice substantial breakfast.
There are so many excellent restaurants within walking distance of the hotel so make sure you get out and try them, so much good food. Expensive, but then everything is in Lucerne.
Overall, although the location is excellent I'm not sure I would stay here again, I think better value for your money is out there.
