We needed a room for one night prior to joining a tour at another Lucerne hotel and we were looking for something basic and not too expensive. Our accommodations were behind the actual hotel, across a small roadway, up several small flights of stairs. You enter an efficiency kitchen with apt. size stove, kitchen sink, refrigerator. Because of the expensiveness of food in Lucerne, this would be an ideal spot for supplementing dining out with eating in. A small table and chairs were outside in a "garden" area but it was not well kept. The bedroom was large and had large closets. The decor was modern style but not new; it was clean and spacious. Weather was hot, but the open windows allowed for a comfortable breeze [no AC]. Breakfast was adequate but not as extensive as most of the hotels we used. Staff were helpful; internet was free. Hotel is within easy walk to train, attractions, Lake Lucerne, every kind of restuarant imaginable. Cobblestone streets and narrow paths create a safe feel for wandering and enjoying the city.
