The hotel is 8 minutes walk from lucerne station & is situated near the lake & close to the fort wall. The rooms are small & clean but comfortable enough & seperate almirah was there for luggage & the bathroom was spacious but no bacony for double bed rooms that was the drawback. The staff is nice & helpful. The hotel's restaurant is beautiful provides u with ample options to pick for breakfast. really enjoyed our stay

Our room had no view of the lake and was on the 1st floor. There was no air conditioner in the room only a fan. The television was extremely old with very few stations. The bathroom was small with a shower curtain that had a very mildewy smell. The room was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. Breakfast was very good with a nice variety. Overall the hotel was ok. Nothing fancy or extraordinary. We were only there 1 night and we managed to sleep ok even though it was 2 twin beds pushed together to make a double. I would definitely recommend eating at Old Swiss House which is only a few blocks from the hotel.

We were a family 8 on a europe tour. We had booked three rooms at De La Paix. The triple rooms were spacious with balconies having a great view of the snow covered mountains. The double rooms were sufficiently big..Though no space for luggage..and had no balcony. If you can, specify that you would like a room with balcony.
We ate at the restaurant a couple of times..food was good and so was the service. Staff was friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is especially good. There is a bus stop a few steps away..the station too is close by..the dying lion monument is at a walking distance and shopping areas are just around the corner.
All in all, its a good 3 star hotel and complete served the purpose. Would definitely recommend this hotel and return if we can!!

My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Hotel De La Paix Lucerne is an amazing city with lots to do. The owner of the hotel (Ferdinand) could not have been more helpful--he was generous with his time and made sure we knew which attractions to visit during our brief stay (including Mt. Titlis...10,000 feet above sea level and a short train ride away). We received some great recos for shopping which resulted in the purchase of two Swiss watches from Gubelin; a nearby Jewelry store.
We stayed on the second floor (#222). Our room was very spacious (the hotel offers free WiFi and has adapters available, if required). The Hotel Guide in the room was very detailed and left no stones unturned---it even referenced the quality of the local drinking water (the best I have tasted) that can be consumed from the bathroom tap.
The hotel is located a very short walk (approx 7 minutes away) from the train station and close to a large Grocery store (Migros).
An excellent Breakfast Buffet was included...the food in the hotel was so good we ended up eating at the Restaurant two nights in a row. Our waitress, Ramona, made us feel very welcome and we were pleasantly surprised to meet the Chef (Karl) who came by to ask us for our feedback. We loved the Cordon Bleu and Puffed Pastry dishes.
We are hoping to return one day to Lucerne and I would have no hesitation to re-book at the same hotel.

The receptionist was very helpful and smiling and added a Really young feel to the hotel. However only thing missing was AC, which is okay when the weather is cool in case of summer it can quite suffocating.
But in cool weather this is definately the place to stay as it is value for money and really close to the dying lion monument.
Breakfast was good.

Came for a quick weekend away and despite a comfortable bed and reasonably updated decor in the room, we were disappointed. The rooms are stuffy with no source of air other than the windows -- which unfortunately open onto a noisy street, despite the request for a quiet room. The bathroom smelled like mildew and the floor was old linoleum that did not feel very clean. On the positive side: great location, friendly staff, breakfast buffet included.

We hadn't planned to stay at Lucern again as part of this particular trip and so this hotel was booked at very short notice without any real planning.
Our views on it are a little mixed. First the good:
Location is just about as good as any of the hotel in the centre - right in the heart of the City.
Staff were also very pleasant and accommodating - we arrived late at night and yet they managed to keep smiling despite having to serve us our meals after their traditional closing time.
Room size was good by city centre budget hotel standards.
The not so good was that although the room itself was clean, the bathroom was less so and felt quite dated/tired. I'd much rather be charged a little extra but have a bathroom which was spotless.
Would we stay here again? I would say only if on a budget.
