We were there on a Wednesday night. It is a lovely restaurant, very charming and not too big. Service is a little slow and disjointed, but the sever's personality made up for that.
I shared the anti pasta with a friend, it was good, but nothing special. My husband had the grilled vegetables which was very good. I had the prawn casserole (baked prawns with olive oil and spices - very good! My husband and friend had the linguine prawns, which they both enjoyed.
Desserts are excellent. The lemon tart is very tangy - so if you like lemons, get it.
The restaurant is in a beautiful location, on a square in old town.

Perfect Italian cuisine, try the escalopes and THE risotto! Very Nice wine list... Even THE small are classy !
THE maître d hotel is like Ceasar... Or you get. THE full monty with all THE show, egards and service... Or hè forgets you, is rude to the Waiters and is frustrated by. Who knows ... Even my waiter was embarrassed by his high fawlty towers level

We were here as a group of 7 colleagues. The first impression was very enchanting: very good location in the old town of Lucerne, like a hidden little garden terrasse, very nice decoration, waiters speaking Italian, nice smell, ... we were very excited for what to come. We booked for 6 people and somehow we felt like we were disturbing as one more person joined the group. The Maitre d'Hotel seemed very stressed and the waiters too. We had to wait 5 minutes until our table was made ready and it took them time until they decided where to park us; we got one directly at the entrance of the kitchen while there was another one in the center of the restaurant that was free!
We ignored this awkward welcome, but then it took ages until we managed to order and also start to get our plates. The Maitre d'Hotel seemed independently overheated and creating such a chaos, also with the Chef that had to come out at some point for some reason. The Maitre d'Hotel was shouting at him in Italian and the Chef just smiled ... it was not necessarilly a very relaxing atmosphere. I got as a starter a Buffala with cherry tomatoes and fig, then noodles with a cream sauce and black summer truffles. The starter was ok but overpriced for what it was. The main was disappointing: the cream sauce had no taste and the black truffles neither. It was bland. In cantinetta antinori in Zurich, another Bindella restaurant, you get much better.
We didn't know that this resraurant belonged now to Bindella. Too bad cause it just became one more of these tasteless money making places that we have too much of in Zurich!

We ambled through old town and randomly picked Barbatti for dinner but were pleasantly surprised. The ambiance was very nice and lively and was filled with people when we arrived. The service was good although nothing exceptional. We had Spaghetti aglio Olio which was decent and a very good mushroom risotto. The rocket salad was great! The menu was limited with no pizzas but whatever we had was good.
Would definitely recommend a visit!

This place was recommended to us and as its walking distance from the main part of the city (across the wooden bridge) and near the underground car park, we tried it. The menu wasn't extensive and a little bit surprising for an Italian restaurant it lacked pizza! Service was initially very good but the staff seemed to disappear after the main course and getting the bill was too slow. The food was excellent though (Banzino and Salmon Risotto especially) and the Chianti was amazing.
