Nice italian fare, rustic setting filled with people enjoying the city, the wine and the food. Everything was done well and lightly - not too much batter, oil, or sauce.

We had dinner at this Italian restaurant:
very near the train station and the old wooden bridge. Pasta was excellent (and hot!!), good choice of wine and prices are correct. Pleasant service. Can be recommended!

We had visited before and found Rossini's OK. However, our recent visit will be our last visit. Staff were insolent (on entering we didn't want to sit where the waiter first indicated as chairs were tipped up on the open door runners - so the waiter ignored us because we woudn't be in "his area" anymore and we had to find ourselves another table). Then we waited over 30 minutes between starter and main course. Waitress promised "2 minutes more only" but it became another 10 minutes. When the food arrived one plate was burned to death - a canneloni which was black across the top! Even below this unappealing crust there was a large section of the food that was burnt solid and not even a knife or fork could penetrate the pasta - it was disgusting. When the manager came across he told us it was "normal when the restaurant is busy"! But a third of the tables were empty and it is NEVER acceptable to serve up burnt food. His remedy was to remove 7 Swiss Francs only about £4) from the bill. Another disgrace. Totally unacceptable.

Located at a very busy spot with lots of activity where you can either sit at the footpath or inside with a completely open front. Tables are close together so do not eat there if you want to hold a private conversation with someone. On the other hand a nice change. Food was both good and not so. For Lucerne prices were average but still expensive as anyone visiting Switzerland would know.

I had dinner here with a business partner approximately a about month ago and we were quite disappointed. First of all we were seated so close to our neighbors, it was difficult not to get distracted by their conversation. After a tomato-mozzarella salad which wasn’t that special, we waited for over an hour for our pizzas to be served. Sure they apologized - but I simply can’t imagine how you can mess up a pizza that badly for it to take a whole hour to make a second. Now I would like to say that the pizza was worth the wait, but it was not more than average. Oh well, I’ll probably go there again and hope for a better impression. However, it is definitely not the place I recommend if your only here for a limited time.
