Description: On the ground floor, the Restaurant Hotel du Parc des Eaux-Vives hosts a Brasserie with a terrace overlooking the lake. The kitchen team uses fresh, seasonal ingredients sourced from regional and sustainable suppliers for delicious creations such as perch fillets from the lake. The restaurant also offers a sumptuous family brunch on Sundays. In summer, the cool and trendy cocktail bar 'Upstairs' opens on the more intimate first-floor terrace with breathtaking views of the lake.

The atmophere is great and having dinner on the terrasse a warm summer evening is of great pleassure. In my oppinion the price is too high for what you get. Nothing wrong about the presentation and quality but it seames that the time have stand still since the 1990. For the price the chef could be a little bit more creative.

The view of the lake and grounds of the restaurant Parc des Eaux Vives are simply spectacular. At night dining on the terrasse evokes an air of romance and nostalgia. If u wish to impress a date bring them here, it is difficult to forget a place like this.Upon arrival we were warmely greeted by the staff. We commenced the soirée with an aperitif, a drinks trolley was brought to our table where the manager Vincent whipped up some fabulous, mouthwatering cocktails. We came for the fine dining experience and that's what we got. The starter of salmon confit was melt in the mouth delicious and the foie gras exquisite. The main course of fera fish (a fish exclusive to the lake leman) was beautifully served and delicately piquante. The finale of desserts were delectably decadent, chocolate lovers will be taken by the chocolate sphere! While we were enjoying our coffees a trolley of fabulously presented petits fours arrived to our table. The variety of mignardises would impress even the most seasoned of gourmands. Throughout the course of the evening we found the service discreet, attentive and courteous; any questions we had were helpfully answered. Would I recommend le Parc Des Eaux Vives restaurant? Absolutely! It has a touch of old-fashioned charm which is endearing in an age preoccupied with trendiness.

We stumbled upon this restaurant while strolling in the beautiful Park Des Eaux-Vives in Geneve. The crew was very sympathetic, as well as professional. It was a nice and cool mid day Saturday and the outdoor location was perfect. We ordered two entrees and one main dish (local fish). The food was served in time and was really good.

It's a superb location, it's a beautiful house and both deserve the five star rating. The windows overlook the lake, however they are tiny and guests are advised not to open them because of mosquitoes. The welcoming was a bit strange, as when going to the rooms the corridor was still full with plates form breakfast (at 5pm). The rooms are clean, welcoming chocolates are superb (the grand restaurant was to our misfortune closed that night) and we slept well.

Overall it's a good hotel, but the five star rating is overdone. It's something between a five star hotel and a good bed and breakfast. The location is good for sleeping and certainly for dining in the fabulous two star Michelin restaurant. If you have to do in Geneva there are hotels which are more centrally located.

Keep in mind that there are two restaurants here: La Brasserie and "A L'Etage". The former is on the first floor and offers a slightly more relaxed (democratic) menu/service, while the later takes themselves a bit more seriously.

We ate at "A L'Etage" last night (a wednesday). Our service was excellent. Our head waiter was named Vincent, but we had at least two others helping with service. Everyone here is a graduate of a hotel school, or perhaps doing their internship and so they take their work very seriously. They did an excellent job recommending wine, filleting our fish "à table", etcetera. I was surprised to hear so many people complaining about service. That was not my experience. The staff practices a professional/formal (French) service, but they are very approachable and friendly if they can be. The impressive and prices means that guests are most often intimidating/demanding OR meek and intimidated. If you're able to assume a relaxed role and are ready to be delighted, the staff will give you their best.

The food was excellent: presentation, quantity, temperature. Perhaps not ready for a Michelin star, but it would be petty to give anything but compliments to the chef. My wife's filet de fera is what I'd be ordering next time....beautiful.

Tips:
Don't bother going if too cold for outdoor seating. That said, take a sweater.
Although no dress code, you won't feel out of place in your best.
If you smoke, perhaps let staff know while making your reservation so that you'll be placed at the end of the terrace, (which isn't a bad place to be anyway).

Suggestions:
The wait-staff was a bit too French-oriented. Although they served local wine from Satigny and pork from Jussy, the staff had no real idea about the canton or beyond. And perhaps at least make the effort of counting in "Swiss" (first time to have heard the number "quatre-vingt-dix-neuf" spoken by a waiter here in Switzerland).
