“Good if you stick to the chicken”
Reviewed March 2, 2014 via mobile

My husband got the 1/2 chicken dinner and it was good. The chicken tasty and the potatoes and salad good too. My son got the soup, which I found bland. I got the Thai salad, which was a mistake. I wanted the country salad, but it didn't have any chicken in it and was priced in a way that it should have had some in it. The Thai salad didn't tasty very Thai-like to me. It had glass noodles on it and a tasteless red sauce on top of that. Underneath the noodles it had chicken and then basically the same salad, dressing and all, that comes with the 1/2 chicken dinner. A bit of coriander would go a long way to get the salad remotely tasting Thai.

“Good food at great prices”

We had a lovely dinner in this restaurant. The chicken was delicious and the staff were very friendly. In addition the price for food here is great compared to other restaurants in Geneva.

“Good place, good service, good food for affordable prices”
Reviewed February 23, 2014

We visited Geneva for only a short 1-day trip. We were looking for a place to have a good lunch and found Chez Ma Cousine at about noon.
The place was crowded and a lots of people were waiting there to get a table, but we could have a table for 2 soon. It was surprising that there were two rooms in that small place :) One is in the front, that everyone could see through the window and it was full of people. The other room was at the backside of the restaurant, where there were many tables for families. (and pencils and paper was given to the kids to have fun while eating)
The food was very good, we ate half chickens with provence-style potatoes and fresh tasty salad. We ordered Geneva wine that was also nice. Also we received a bottle of fresh water free of charge and there was mayo, ketchup and mustard on the table. Of course there were wet wipes to clean the hands.
The whole meal with drinks was under 40 CHF for the two of us.
The waitress was very busy, but very kind and served the meal in 5 minutes (I guess that the chicken was ready to be served, but it was fresh made). She spoke French, German and English.
We really recommend this place to have a good food and a nice time.

“Simple, cheap and good”
Reviewed February 14, 2014

We got into this place in Geneva as we were looking for non expensive places where we could eat for lunch on sunday.

As all people living in Switzerland know, it is almost impossible to find an open restaurant/cafe on sundays, especially for lunch. This was indeed open, full of people and we were served very quickly.

Two of us had the half chicken with potatoes and salad, and I had a very big and good salad with eggs, vegetables and bacon.

We were very happy about food and prices, as we spent about 50 CHF, a very cheap price, considering we were in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

I would suggest this place for all people visiting Geneva coming from abroad, in order to avoid bankrupt to eat something in the town.

“Great value, great quality, home cooking”
Reviewed February 9, 2014

Although they do have dishes without it, it's all about the Poulet here. the demi poulet special is great. Salads are OK, not wonderful, and a few decent Genevoise wines. Overall good food at good prices add up to great value. Frequently crowded. Excellent service!
