The food at Sagano is good, and the place is nice - at least for a business lunch. On the other hand, service is slow, often rude, and forgetful. You can easily wait for your meal for 30 minutes, while others at your table are already eating. It will take them ages to clear your table and to take your coffee order at the end. They simply forget you.

I love this restaurant...keep coming back here again and again..with friends, families, delegates..

Good thing they have business lunch with variety of menus...either with sashimi, sushi, tempura udon or else..complet with miso tofu and red been or green tea ice cream for dessert and yakiniku for main course..

Never fails to satistfy my craving...and their agedashi tofu is sooooo sooo yummy...luv them...

Unagi rice is also lovely, and they have wagyu steak as well...in the evening, they serve shabu-shabu in the tatami restaurant downstairs...

starting from CH 32...have your decent meal here...

I've been going to Sagano for years and am happy that they put up glass around the teppenyaki area as before you would end up leaving smelling of the cooked food!

The sushi is good and made fresh on the spot, the tempura light and fluffy, their salads are tasty. The overall experience is nice and for special occasions or business meetings they have rooms downstairs with the low table, slippers (you have to take your shoes off down there) etc all is very traditional Japanese. Personally I find it to be a bit on the expensive side but I have always eaten well!

I am not judging this place as an authentic Japanese restaurant - because it is not. It is a Japanese style restaurant catered to Western clients and there is nothing wrong with that. The business lunch menu, which I took was surprisingly good value for money. The starter sushi was a little sloppy and amateurish - and it was the first time I've seen the ends of maki rolls also served, but it wasn't too bad. The udon was good but the broth probably came straight out of a bottle with added soy sauce. The service was slow and average, but that is normal in Geneva.

Geneva is a challenging city restaurant-wise. The fact that a small cappucino at Starbucks is 5.90 CHF ($6.) indicates the problem. The area between the train station and the five-star hotels have many but reasonably priced ones are mediocre and good ones tend to be super expensive. Many people visiting Geneva are there on business related to the international organizations and the area near the Place des Nations appears to be a desert. Sagano is very close to the UNHCR building and near the Palais des Nations. It is a large. The decor is Japanese (wood, calm, minimalist lines). The service is excellent. In the evening, the plat du jourat 48 CHF is a bargain. I had miso soup, sushi (excellent and a good size portion), fish, and ice creasm for dessert. Of course there are many offerings on the menu, but one should seriously consider the plat du jour.
