“Cold and Clear”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

I have never seen such a large fountain in my life It must have shot 20 meters into the air I went back towards the evening to photograph it but was switched off so if you weant to see it go during the day when in Geneva. The clear waters don't seem to contain much fich but at my hotel I had perch which was apparently caught from the lake. The are boat trips regular as buses across the lake if you don't like walking over bridges they are fun a reasonably priced.

“Hauntingly beautiful”
Reviewed January 14, 2013

It's worth walking along the shores of geneva, and even better, take a boat ride or two. They're free if you're a tourist and have a travel card.

“Big lake, lots of things to see”
Reviewed January 9, 2013

The boat ride to Montreux at the other end of the lake is very enjoyable in summer. The restaurants on the French side in the medieval town of Yvoire and other towns are great

“Great walk along the lake”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Walking along the lake is a must when visiting geneva as you cannot really say you have been there unless you do this. It is one of the most beautiful settings by a lake in the world.

“Superb jaunt along the banks of the river”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

This is where you get that feeling that brings you back time and time again to European Cities - that mix of culture, history an wonderful scenery. After a superb tour at the UN, we walked down through the Botanic Gardens south east and joined the banks of the lake along a great walking path. Glowing in warm winter sun, the lake shimmered beautifully, with the details of the statues and boats and ducks and promenades in the foreground, the fountain and busy city in the distance, and mountains of the Alps forming a majestic backdrop. After a 30minute walk (and lots of photos) we and then hopped on a short ferry across, past the fountain and onto the busy streets of Geneva, where we gorged on sandwiches and delicatessen delights from the local market.
