This is a basic hotel, which is very clean, with very helpful, friendly staff. Its location is excellent, just around the corner is Gare Cornavin and every tram, bus and train from around the city seems to stop here.
The rooms were too hot for me, making sleep almost impossible and the room doors bang loudly when being shut, so bring ear plugs. I was provided with a sheet when I requested a lighter duvet, but it was removed from the room the next day.
My friends told me that for Geneva it provides excellent value. In other European cities you would expect a lot more for the cost.

Clean, but very basic. For some strange reason they placed the smoking rooms in the quieter back of the hotel, the non-smoking rooms along the noisy street. An electric fan in the room drowned out some of the noise, but bring earplugs. Toiletries in bathroom. Can get breakfast 7-10am included in your room rate. Pillows were absolutely worthless, deflated on impact. Bed not very comfortable, too soft. Very near train station. Middle eastern food and Chinese takeaway nearby. Not in the high end of town. We had a double bed for two. Small elevator, max two person with luggage. Small kettle and cups with coffee in room.

Room Tip: They should change smoking rooms to the front rooms near the busy street. No.403 is on the street, n...

Good location, staff very helpful at the reception.
Rooms are small (typical european size). it seems there is no control for heating and hence need to regulate temp by opening the window. if you get a street facing room, it can be noisy. wi-fi is average, seems to disconnect for no reason. lots of restaurants nearby, also close to railway statin and lake geneva. red light area is also very close, but quite safe.

Booked this hotel because I had no other choice for 1 night since it was next to the train station and I was taking the train early next morning. To be straightforward this is probably the worst quality price hotel I have ever been to in my life, 180 francs for a piece of garbage. It looked like a hotel in a train station if not worst, the rooms are tiny, not fully equipped and have a bad smell. The hotel had a kebab restaurant under which made it worst, not to mention the location which was in Geneva's fishy neighborhood with strange people, prostitutes and restaurants. The view of my room was facing garbage on a building roof, nice conclusion. Do not go this hotel you will regret it, only if you really need to stay close to the train station

I stayed in hotel Des Alpes in april 2013. Hotel situated on Rue des Alpes in 5 minutes by walk from Geneva railway station. It is almost city centre so all the main streets and attractions are in 5-15 minutes by walk. Very suitable hotel for city trips. Rooms are mall but good (just like the whole hotel).

I had a stay of 2 nights in May at this Hotel - it was my first and my last time...

Location:
The Hotel is located in the middle of the red light district, surrounded by low class Restaurants and bars, with lots of strange People around. Direclty on a busy road, so you better ask for a room to the courtyard.

Rooms:
Old, not renovated for Long Long time. Worst Thing: the smell of old smoke - I tried to get rid of it, but outside there was the smell of old fried oil of the Restaurant next door - so my nose was forced to get used to it...
The rooms are not very soundproof, I could hear my colleague on the hpone who stayed two floors lower, you can hear all other guests, so it is difficult to find sleep.
The furniture is old and dated. Bathroom has several tiles broken.
The room is not very clean, I had several hair in the bathtub...

Staff at reception were friendly.

For me definitely a no-go. Sorry I might be picky, but this Hotel does not reflect 3-star Level, I wonder why they still can have the 3 stars.

The hotel is in a short walking distance fron a train station. The room is not great but for that price is very nice and clean. No minibar in a room and no water in a bottle. But u can buy it across a road in a supermarket which is open from 7 am till 10 pm every 7 days in a week what is uncommon for Switserland where every shop is closed on Sunday. Breakfast is good. But no hot meal served. The lady in a breakfast room was very kind and quick in serving. No fitness :(
