Ok, so this hotel is located in Geneva redlight destrict. This was a bit of an question mark to me as a solo female traveller. I still decided to book the hotel, encouraged by other reviews on Tripadvisor. So the fact is: if you turn to the left from the hotel door there is nothing but clean streets. If you turn to the right there are a lot of prostitutes day in, day out. But, as I took to the right, I found out that if seeing the prostitutes and the men shopping for it doesn't bother you too much, then there is nothing to fear. No one will bother you. And hotel is located really close to the lakeshore, only 5 min walk.
The hotel itself is old but clean and nice. The staff is extremly accomodating and friendly, so I felt totally welcome. Breakfast is a good selection of the normal hotel variety and was included in the price, which was also good compared to other Geneva hotels. There are few things to consider: the walls are paperthin so light sleepers should take earplugs or go elsewhere. Also, no airconditioning in the room, which made it a bit uncomftorable in the scorching July temperature. But should you be ok with all this, then I say, go for it. It is nice, friendly, well located and a good price.
