If you visit Geneva ..... Book ahead for the best hotel deals. If like us you have not booked then expect to pay a high price! The hotel is in a great location and our room 507 had a lovely view of the city and lake. Old charm 4 star hotel with comfy bed, friendly staff and a well stocked breakfast table.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. The good points: excellent location nearby the shopping area, lake, transportation, old city, 10 minutes walk from the railway station; friendly and attentive staff; free and fast internet in the room, free public transportation card during your stay. The dark side: very small room just under the roof with only a small window which makes the room dark during the day, no desk to work only a very small table, no (?) airco or otherwise poorly regulated, no comfortable chair, walls between rooms seem paper thin, in other words you hear your neighbors clearly.
I have been on business trips to Geneva many times and, as all other hotels here, the Longemalle is way overpriced. But is simply not possible to find a decently priced good hotel in Geneva.

I have stayed in this hotel 6 times. Its location is really central, merely 10 minutes walk downhill from the main station, very close to the old city and the lake. Upon check-in, a free internet password and a free bus-pass are provided for the many buses nearby.
The hotel is in a quiet and small cul-de-sac, opposite many restaurants and the lake. The dining room is only used for breakfast, which is rustic and good. The bedrooms are quaintly small and old-fashioned, a very refreshing change from the bigger but predictable hotel-chain rooms worldwide. In my experience, the best rooms are 206, 207 & 208, with large balconies and views of the lake. The Longemalle provides polite service in a really Swiss environment in the middle of this lovely city.

Room Tip: Corporate rates are available, so ask !

Hotel Longemalle is located in the centre of Geneva near the square with all the shops and restaurants. Only 15 minutes away from the main train station and around 30 minutes from GVA airport. If you arrive by car, please note the hotel itself does not offer parking and the underground parking is at least 10 minutes away.

Free wi-fi is provided in the smallish rooms. The rooms and bathrooms feel a little quaint and outdated.
Everything else like bed linen and towels were very clean and crisp. The porter and the chamber maid were very helpful and friendly. Our clothes needed some pressing and this was done almost immediately. Adrien the desk clerk in charge was also charming and helpful.

Breakfast was included in the price and mediocre. We did love the fresh croissants!

Although my room overlooked the street, it was quiet enough after 10 pm. The furnishings were tasteful, not overdone. The room was very comfortable for one--might have been small if there had been two. Good wireless, great continental breakfast with pleasant attendant providing attentive care. One of two desk attendants was extraordinary, knew the bus stops--really knew them... and went out of way to please....making certain I made that 4:30 am departure and had taxi waiting. I would definitely go back. Location--great.

Room Tip: Book a room in the back--ask for larger room

Keeping in mind that hotels in Geneva are very expensive, my husband and I decided to stay at a small boutique hotel rather than a large corporate hotel. We spent a weekend at this small boutique hotel before our flight home to the USA. The pretty hotel is ideally located about a block from the main shopping area, the waterfront, and old town. All rooms are different both in decor and size. I requested a non- smoking superior room with a balcony facing the street. (It is not a very busy street) It was suppose to have a separate sitting area from the sleeping area. When I arrived they gave me a smoking room by mistake and unfortunately the room which I had seen on the computer was not available. Although they gave me another superior room, it was smaller and did not have the separated sitting area that I had requested. When I questioned the management, they were very polite and upgraded us to a very large superior room that also had a small dining area. (room 602) It did not have a balcony because it faced the inside courtyard rather than the street. (the courtyard side has a view of other buildings and roofs). The bathroom is well equipped with nice towels and robes. The toilet is in a separate room from the bathtub and sink. There was a flat screen TV in both the sitting room and the bedroom. We enjoyed our stay in this room immensely.

The hotel has a very nice breakfast included in the rate which is served in a lovely dining room. The hotel is filled with antiques both in the hallways and on the stairwells. I highly recommend this hotel, but look at the pictures of the rooms and be specific when making a reservation since each room is individually decorated. Also keep in mind that rooms in Europe are smaller than what we are use to in the USA!!!

As I am frequent traveller to Geneva for business purposes, it took me some time to find a decent acceptable prized hotel. I have also tried the Longemalle and there is really nothing positive about this hotel, except for it's location.

The rooms are ridiculously small and the room I had was equiped with a portable (!)airconditioning unit, which besides making a lot of noice, generated extra heat in stead of freshness...

Breakfast buffet must be the worst I have ever seen. Fresh fruit? It looked liked dried fruit! Staff was unfriendly and rude.

I stayed there for one night, luckily. The guy at the reception did his best to make up for the bad experience, but my advice is to stay away from this hotel. You can find better hotels in Geneva.
