My children ( aged 27 and 10) walked uphill with me to the Cathedrale enjoying the old buildings along the way up. The walk up was quite strenuous and we stopped a lot along the way to admire many buildings ( and to take short rests!). The walk was worth the effort as the beauty of the Cathedrale was overwhelming. The high ceilings and colourful stained windows were artistic and impressive.
The place was so beautiful that we returned the next day - this time we took the little sightseeing train to avoid the strenuous climb uphill. The Cathedrale de St. Pierre in the Old City is really an attraction not to miss when one is in Geneva. A truly inspiring place!!!

Beside the impressive architecture of the church, the view from the top of the tower is absolutely breathtaking!

Stop by St. Pierre and take the catacomb tour. He tour is at your own pace through the tunnels under the church. You will see recent findings as well as active dog sites. The church above ground is beautiful to see up close and from afar. Take it all in!

This cathedral dates back to the reformation, when protestants broke from the Catholic church. The worship areas are beautiful; and we particularly enjoyed the ($10/person) opportunity to climb up to the north tower, then cross above the main worship area over to the south tower. You can see the ancient bells, structural beams, and the views are stunning.
Be aware that climbing up (and down) the spiral staircases may not be for everyone.
