“Should be called Hostel Central”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2011

I was really disappointed with this place.
I had booked a room with shared bathroom, based on the average reviews read online, and the rates that seemed reasonable for such a central hotel with breakfast included.
Unfortunately it didn't look like a hotel from the start, as it's located inside a private building, with reception at the 6th floor, no common areas or even a breakfast room. As soon as we arrived we had to decide at what time we wanted to have breakfast in the room.
The room was terribly small, with shower and tiniest lavatory just by the entrance, not separated from the rest of the room. The "shared toilet" was actually a shared toilet bowl, two square metres in the corridor. No lavatory, not even different rooms for male and female.
The corridor itself had blue moquette and pink walls: afwul.
Breakfast was a joke. As I mentioned, since there is not a breakfast room, they served it directly in the room - through the toilet as many other people mentioned. It consisted in tea or coffee, 2 croissants, 2 pieces of bread, some butter and jam. That was it. Hot croissants are sold in any supermarket at 1 CHF each.
Receptionist was nice but not helpful, when I asked if she knew of any public transport to get us to the airport at night, she suggested to get a cab and didn't even try to have a look at her computer, even though she didn't look very busy.
All in all I feel like I paid for a hotel, but got a hostel instead.
Switzerland is expensive, but in other cities such as Lausanne or Basel, I got much better hotels or guest houses for similar or even better rates.
Would not recommend.

First of all, the map google-maps provides you doesn't show the correct location of the hotel but it is indeed located very central and is pretty close to everything. The hotel itself is located on the 6th floor of a townhouse. Rooms are very small and there wasn't enough space to store all our luggage in the room. The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen and is very basic. A breakfast is provided which will be delivered right into your room which is nice since you can have the breakfast in your bed! (which you actually need to have due to the roomsize!)

We felt we were on a scout camp...wall to wall wood, dirty everywhere. Didn´t close an eye for 3 nights as the windows were so thin, that ALL noise from the street and bars came right into the room, eventhough we were in the 3rd floor. Walls thin as paper, and all talk in neighbouring rooms could be heard. Pictures looked fine, but our room was NOT at all like the picture. Checked into Swisshotel the last night which was WONDERFULL!!!!

No, no, no......

This is unacceptable, the worse hotel stay in my life. Terrible breakfast, one croissant and one bread, an over boiled coffee in a tray, that comes to you in the this tinny room and be aware cause they will ask the tray back in a few minutes AND YOU WILL HAVE TO OPEN THE ROOM DOOR THROUGH THE TOILET..... NO MORE COMMENTS.

If you are looking for a budget accommodation in the center of Geneva this is the place to go.
It could not be more central.
I guess it's the only budged accomodation where you get breakfast automatically delivered to your room. They have no room for the breakfast, so they bring it to you. Good service, eventough the latest delivery is pretty early at 9am. I've to admit, it is a very simple dish, but the fact that it gets delivered is cool.

They offer different rooms at different prices. A few years ago we had a big room with plenty of space, even a sofa.
However, the budget rooms are extremely small. We had a room for 3 and had hardly space to change cloth or walk around. Toilet on the floor. Very narrow shower in the room.
No luxury, but all you need for a night or two. Quite old furniture.
No parking spaces at the hotel, park house a few hundred meters away

This is properly rated as a two-star hotel. For that you get a good clean basic service and not much luxury. The hotel is located in what is mostly an office block with shops at floor level - you have to take one of two very small elevators to the sixth floor to the reception. My room size was OK, the breakfast standard "petit dejeuner" fare. The aircon worked, there was a modenr LCD tv and also a DVD player (I think you can borrow DVDs from reception). WifI Internet is good and free. Staff are friendly. There's no fridge or bar. However right across the street is a Coop full of food and also a small Migos for snacks. The location is very central. If your budget is very tight don't forget to ask for a free Geneva Transport Card - this also covers the small yellow ferries that criss-cross the lake. The Italian restaurant on the street below is not connected to the hotel and is poor value

We stayed in studio apartment 45 which has a four poster bed,
2 lounge chairs, cable tv, wireless internet( free), kitchette ( microwave, 2 hotplates, sink and fridge all in a separate room) large bathroom. By European standards it is enormous. We paid $AUS 170 which included a continental breakfast and a free travel pass for the 2 of us. It is central to everything and the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Supermarket is across the street and it is in an excellent location close to Lake Geneva (2 streets) and the main part of the Old Town.
This is excellent value and I cannot stress how good the location is- totally recommend paying the extra for the apartment. It is actually better than the website suggests- much more modern.
