Come with your wallet full, or credit card fully charged!
When requesting a light meal outside on the terrace at 18.30, we were told that this is only possible from 19.00!!! In a hotel!!!!!!
Desk staff were great. Our rooms were not ready, but we could still freshen up for our meeting. One of us requested a smokers room, and got an upgrade for free!

Swiss metropole was top notch. The hotel is well situated, exceptionally clean and the entire staff was very friendly and courteous. We would highly recommend this hotel and will come again. Great value as well. Concierge staff is very good.

Stayed here with the family. Got the advantage room with family package which meant the kids had board games in the room, a Wii unit and stuffed toys. The kids loved it. The rooms are good but the bathroom definitely need some renovation. At the end the location is so good that even with a large price tag you don't mind staying here.

Good: there was a steam room within the shower. Phenomenal. There was a spectacular view from the gardens, to a fountain, to the lake, and then the famous jet, from my newly renovated room on the fourth floor. Loved the automated on/off for maid service and lights as well as the wonderful, constantly replenished, fresh fruit, nuts, and baked items in my room. Impressed with the tv in the floor-to-ceiling length mirror. Lots of English speaking channels--including BBC (not that you'll be watching it much). Friendly staff: especially Abdel at the concierge desk and Clara at the front desk. Eager to please and very helpful. Proximity to downtown is excellent. [The steamboat ferries are right across the main street and definitely worth the ride around the lake (sit starboard and, splurge a little, take the dinner).] Complimentary use of an umbrella (in your closet) for your stay. An excellent coffee maker in room (no plastic). Coffee packets and amenities always replenished. And, real silverware. The hotel has a warm, comfortable, eclectic feeling.

Bad: if you've had a red-eye, book an extra night for the night of the red-eye because you're unlikely to get early check-in. You can check your bags in with the concierge. But, guests aren't eager to check out of this hotel, so you may be checking in long after 14:00 (which is their listed check-in time). Plan ahead for that so that you don't pass out on their couch--tempting as it may be. Also, I think that a hotel of this caliber shouldn't list "tips" on their hotel bill--it seems out of character for them. Perhaps information in the rooms would help explain to tourists (who struggle with tipping ettiquete when traveling) just how/when hotel staff generally get tipped? But, putting it on the bill (with a blank line next to it) gives you a feeling that the hotel didn't think you paid them enough, as you're leaving. In fact, many high-end (resort/spa) hotels in the US make comments in the reading materials left in their rooms that tips are NOT expected /or encouraged. Therefore, it's understandable why many travelers would be confused about tipping when traveling outside of their own country--especially in a hotel like this one which is closer to the high end range and has a classy ambience.

Stayed only for a night with family, but the whole experince was great , right from the check in to taking concierges help. The rooms might be small but are very very well equipped. But very difficult to find someone on the road to direct you in the right direction as they refuse to understand or speak english !!!!

Very good hotel in a great location and only a short taxt ride from the airport.

I recently stayed here for one night in one of the lakeside rooms, very spacious and well equiped rooms at this hotel, clean and modern bathrooms, very quiet at night helpful friendly staff.

Wish i could have spent more time here but sadly the business trip dod not allow me more time, really hope to come back and stay here again.

Sun was shining in Geneva and the restaurants / street cafes / bars were full to overflowing, good atmosphere, nice and lively. Looks like a lovely city.

We went to the Swisshotel to purchase a Geneva Tourist Pass as the hotel was listed as one of the locations to purchase the tourist card on the Geneva Pass website. On arrival we were asked by the concierge on whether we needed assistance. We told him we were there to purchase the card. His response was that we should go through the exit and round the corner to the street behind the hotel to a gift shop to purchase a gift card and asked if we really want to buy a gift card from the hotel. We repeated to him that it was a Geneva tourist pass and not a gift card we were after. He then advised us to go to the reception desk. We walked up the steps to the reception desk and asked if we could purchase a Geneva Tourist Pass. The staff then firstly asked if we were guests at the hotel, we said we were not. Her response was then that we should go and ask at the concierge desk. We told her that we were instructed by the concierge at the concierge desk to ask at the reception desk, she then called the concierge to check and then said we should still go back to the concierge desk. At the concierge desk, the concierge then said that his boss was at lunch who was the only one who could help. We asked when his boss would be back, and his response was he did not know as it was the boss. The staff here are extremely rude, do not listen to questions properly, give inconsistent information and can not help with simple tasks. Why only one staff member in the whole hotel knows how to sell the Geneva Pass is baffling, I'm sure a backpacker hotel staff would be more clued up. Being asked if we stayed at the hotel first was rude, the Geneva Pass website does not state that only guests at that hotel can purchase it from there.
