Stayed there for a couple of days in late October. Had stayed a few times in the past and the hotel is clearly in dire need of refurbishment. The rooms were tired, the doors of the rooms were badly in need of a coat of paint and in general, with the exception of the ground floor, the situation was more reminiscent of an old Soviet hotel than a top of the line Swissotel which it pertains to be. The keys did not work and that was only fixed after having repeatedly been issued with additional keys that did not work.
Despite leaving the proper notice requiring room cleaning, I invariably returned to a room that had not been cleaned.
The common areas are nice, but when I once ordered a sandwich my table was invaded by small flies. I could dismiss this to the proximity of the lake but this is the only place this occurred during a ten day stay in the city.
The only positive from my trip was the breakfast which still offers a good (not great) buffet at a reasonable (for Geneva) price.More
