“Suite very comfortable - services restricted”
Reviewed October 20, 2011

We stayed at the Hotel Epsom at the start of our 10 week trip to Geneva and did our final night at the Hotel Kipling. Location of Epsom and Kipling both good but Epsom closer to Lake access. Epsom had better breakfast room, dining room and bar facilitis. The Kipling had more modern and pleasant room furnishings - which were somewhat tired and dated at Epsom. It all depends whether you ar after hotel services as to which one yo woul choose.
This chain seems to be very good value in Geneva. Breakfast buffet at Kipling was not as good as at the Epsom which caters more for business clientele.

There are pros and cons of each - I think if food and dining is of convenience I would recommend the Epsom over the Kipling Hotel, despite rooms which could do with refurbishment - they are still clean and comfortable at the Epsom. This Manotel Chain is worth considering - see it's website directly for latest specials and offers.

Room Tip: The suite was very generous in size and had comfortable facilities, lounge etc.

FaNtastic hotel in a town where most hotels are overpriced fleapits. The only 3star thing about this hotel is no porter for luggage and no restaurAnt in house Yes breakfast is overpriced get yours just outside at the boulangerie Lovely spacious well designed rooms and bathroom great bed fluffy towels what more could one ask for at the price? Would not dream of staying anywhere else!

Hotel Kipling is a small and cosy 3* hotel with friendly service and nice rooms.
It is very well located, about 5min from the train station and 7min from the lake.
The property is well-maintained and one of the nicest 3* properties I know. All installations seem new and colours as well as styles are carefully selected and fitted to each other.
A great value for money is the cute breakfast buffet that you can enjoy in the morning featuring cold cut cheese and meats, bread basket, cereals, sausage, scrambled eggs, salads, youghurt, self-cooked eggs and Nespresso.
When in Geneva I always stay at Kipling and can warmly recommend the hotel to everyone.

Room Tip: all rooms are nice and windows have good noise isolation

The Positive: Hotel with nice atmosphere, fresh rooms (though not very spacious) and comfortabel beds. Staff is multilingual and very helful, Breakfast in a nicely decorated room with good choice of fruits, musli, differrent kinds of breds, and eggs, beans, sausages.
Easy to reach - seven minutes walk from train station. Neighborhood has lots of good ethnic restaurants, most with great atmosphere.
The so-so: Had a room on the first floor, court side - no view at all, or to be more precise view of a white wall and of the guest parking (and whith late night arrivals kind of noisy - motor noise and slamming car doors (hence ask for room at upper floors). Furthermore, Geneva red light district is just blocks away

Room Tip: upper floors better - less of a caged in feeling

We stayed here for one night upon flying in to Geneva to begin our two week holiday in Switzerland. This hotel feels like a bit of a diamond in the rough, in an alright but not lovely location near the train station. It is very close to Geneva's central train station with easy transport links around the city.

This hotel has a really funky vibe, upon entering we were greeted with an Indian theme (obviously) with incense burning and cool tracks such as nirvana! Olivier greeted us in flawless English which was comforting. We can speak enough French to communicate regarding a room booking but it was probably easier all round to speak English. Oliver offered us a free travel card for Geneva transport and gave us a map, indicating the interesting places to go and advising us to avoid the red light district area at night. This area is easily avoided and we never encountered anything dodgy thanks to his advice.

Our room was lovely, obviously recently refurbished with a balcony. The bathroom was very swanky and nice and the tv had a few british channels meaning we were able to watch X factor lol.

We knew we were coming back to this hotel in two weeks time before flying back home and were looking forward to it knowing we'd have a nice comfortable hotel.

When we returned two weeks later we were told that there had been some problems with the website and that they had received too many bookings for the amount of rooms and were therefore offered the chance to upgrade for free to the hotel's sister hotel Hotel Royal (4 star) just across the road. We agreed and were escorted over the road personally by the receptionist who carried my bag for me and apologised repeatedly for the problem.

All in all a very nice experience. If we're ever in Geneva we'll definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with my wife and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms were extremely clean, well decorated and good sized. It also had a decent sized bathroom with all modern amenities. The rooms could easily pass for a good 4* hotel. It's pretty closeby to main train station and also Geneva lake (10-12 mins walk). It is also centrally airconditioned which is generally not the case in most swiss hotels. I found it good value for money and would not mind staying here again.

Just back from 3 night stay in Geneva. Stayed at the Kipling Hotel they say its 3 star but have stayed in a lot worse 4 star hotels. Hotel and the room were spotless, staff nice and helpful. Ideally placed for the train station and lake, lots of nice places to eat near by. also outstanding value for money. Well worth a try.
