My daughter stayed here on business with one of her team and I joined her for a mini-family get together after Christmas. The location is great with public transport on hand just outside the entrance and a free visitors ticket each.
The public spaces are very restricted to a tiny ground floor bar/servery smaller than our kitchen and some comfortable but rather overwhelming sofas set out in rows. The breakfast floor is quite something being a big steel and glass affair on the 8th floor overlooking much of central Geneva and away to distant mountains and hills.
There are no other ground floor spaces that we could discover though there are fitness facilities.
The breakfast was okay but exceedingly predictable with tiny amounts of cold meats and hard boiled eggs laid by dwarf chickens. One grade of milk and three cereal types plus pumpkin seeds etc. Very limited bread and roll choices for a European hotel but the waiter-provided coffee was okay. There were some apples and bananas as well.
Rooms: we discovered when I helped my daughter pack her things away, that her business booking room on the 4th floor was only about half the area of my add-on room booking on the 3rd. Hers was like a ship's cabin, not small as such but with absolutely no room to spare whereas mine was a long walk from the bed to the kettle
Usual high prices for minibar goods best left alone. Stylish kettle but unimaginative minimalist selection of 2 tea bags (not even the one I used was replaced the next day) and those cardboard stick tubes of bitter coffee.
Several sharp right angled edges near the bath which doubles as a shower. Plus glass doors and panels set on edge to your direction of entry/exit to the bathroom/toilet I always find a bit scary as I tend to walk into things I cannot see because of no colour contrast. Basic, not lavish soap/shampoo provision.
Sunday morning lie -in was spoilt by incredibly noisy cleaning staff in the next room and the corridor. No need for an alarm. I got up to track the source and they must have both been deaf as they were shouting at one another while standing less thn four feet apart.
A curious and very tall pendulum clock hangs in a void opposite the three glass-walled lifts: about eight floors high, it is supposed to be in the Guiness Book of Records but it was about eight hours adrift on our idea of the right time.
I didn't like the one-way only fire exit route: no staircase at the opposite end of the corridor to the main exit staircase.
