This hotel is a beautiful perfectly well located building, just in front of lake Geneva.
It's modern, elegant minimal decoration, inmaculately clean and full of details to make you feel like a VIP all the way.
I got a room upgrade which gave me a lake facing room with a balcony which only made it more enjoyable.
The prices are very high, but you will have the feeling that your money has been well spent. The only problem is that i didn't spend that much time in the room and it feels like a bit of a waste.
It feels peaceful and relaxing. Lovely sleep!

Room Tip: Lovely views of the lake!

The Kempinski is consistent with the high end hotels in Geneva. The rooms are quiet and comfortable, and the service is warm and efficient.

The price varies as is common in Geneva, but is not unreasonable for this quality of hotel.

It has a great location on the lake, and I recommend a stroll along the lake. It is a 15 minute walk from the centre of town. However it is right next to the ferry service 'Mouettes' which is the best way to access the city.

I have stayed there 6 times in the last 2 years, and have never had any problem or incidents. I look forward to the next time.

When you read this review, bear in mind that this is a 5-star, luxury hotel. Therefore, it has a much higher standard set for it than other, lower-caliber hotels. The issues I had would not be a factor had this been a 3 or 4-star hotel. But at $800+(American) a night, I expect the highest quality. My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. We had a clean, comfortable room overlooking the Jet d'Eau. The housekeeping was excellent, the linens were top-notch, and the provided toiletries were very nice. The bath tub was nice and large, with 2 different shower heads, and the water got very hot. They even provided an outlet converter for our electronics.
My biggest complaint was that our room smelled like cigarette smoke 24 hours a day because we had neighbors who smoked. The hotel is supposed to be non-smoking, but they do nothing to enforce it (ie: charging guests a fee when they checkout if the room is left smokey, as they do in other 5-star hotels). When we got to our room and noticed the smell, we asked our bell man if we had been given a smoking room. Thinking we were asking him if we could smoke, he answered "the whole hotel is non-smoking, but you may smoke if you wish." We were quite sensitive to the smell, so we asked the check-in staff if we could have another room, and they told us the whole hotel was booked-out. They didn't offer any solutions to our problem. We asked two times the first night for some room deodorizer and a fan (to quell the smell), but it never came. The second day, after another stop by the front desk and one more phone call, we finally got a fan and a maintenance man who sprayed a few sprays of fragrance, but honestly there had to have been something more they could do! This factor alone makes me not recommend this hotel.
We never ate lunch or dinner at the hotel, but the breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options. The staff in the restaurant were VERY attentive and so welcoming. If it was not for the smoke, I would have loved my stay.

Hotel Kempinski is conveniently located with a gorgeous view overlooking the water. While I did not stay here as a tourist, I found the hotel ideal for business. You are not a far walk from anything as Geneva is a smaller city. I did take a lake cruise which picks up tourists about a two minute walk from the hotel. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to the historic part of town. It is a gorgeous walk along the water so it is quite enjoyable.

The hotel was nicely appointed with several restaurants. I did not eat at any of them but did review the menus. They were pretty pricey so I opted to explore and walk to the old town where I ate at a fantastic little restaurant / hotel called Hotel Les Armures and would definitely recommend it. I asked the concierge to make a suggestion and he was rather indifferent about where to go. I would have preferred a little more direction from him other than walk on the street behind the hotel and find something or go to another major touristy place that sits right on the water directly opposite.

I saw another reviewer mentioned that if your room is located on the inner portion of the hotel you overlook the pool and outside lounging area. If I came here as a tourist, I too would be disappointed with this view. While a nice part of the hotel with a swanky vibe to it, in the end, you want to see the lake. The outer rooms face the lake so ensure you ask for one of those instead.

Overall, this is a high end hotel which is clean, in an excellent location and caters to business and tourists alike. The room is not huge but was modern with a comfortable bed. The bathroom was large and again very clean with nicer toiletries provided.

Room Tip: Ask for an outer room facing the lake

Great location right on the lakefront a block away from the famous square and easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Very nice modern design of the lobby and hotel rooms that still has a touch of luxury. The center courtyard has a relaxing yet fun zen feel with the bar and restaurant next to the pool in a modern, hip design. Food was excellent, staff are all friendly, helpful, and attentive. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the lake

We stayed for six nights in August. The rooms were very large, beds comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous, right along the lake. Very convenient for morning runs along the lake. The festival was going on along the lake the whole time we were there so it was very convenient. We did not eat at any of the restaurants other that for breakfast so I can review them. Breakfast was very good but could have had more variety. We were there for a convention so it was buffet style.
