“great location, cool vibe, friendly service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2012

Great location right on the lakefront a block away from the famous square and easy walking distance of shopping and restaurants. Very nice modern design of the lobby and hotel rooms that still has a touch of luxury. The center courtyard has a relaxing yet fun zen feel with the bar and restaurant next to the pool in a modern, hip design. Food was excellent, staff are all friendly, helpful, and attentive. Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: ask for a room with a view of the lake

We stayed for six nights in August. The rooms were very large, beds comfortable and staff very friendly and helpful. The location is fabulous, right along the lake. Very convenient for morning runs along the lake. The festival was going on along the lake the whole time we were there so it was very convenient. We did not eat at any of the restaurants other that for breakfast so I can review them. Breakfast was very good but could have had more variety. We were there for a convention so it was buffet style.

been staying at the geneva kempinski for the last few summer holidays. Wonderful hotel in everything but very expensive and prices go up alot every summer. Food is excellent especially in the lovely terrece with wonderful staff working in the resturant. the only negative thing is the reception and reservation staff are not professional in dealing with clients. They make you feel as you are begging from them and are not friendly at all. I have heard from many people staying there that they are not friendly. They need to look at other reception staff in other hotels to learn how to deal with loyal customers.

Stayed for three nights early July. Ended up in the noisy part of the third floor. It seems the hotel is extremely popular with extended Arab familes over summer. They behave as if they were at home. Small children running around in the corridors shouting and screaming chased by nanny's slamming doors when running in and out of the rooms. This goes on for hours. So forget about a quiet evening or night, unless you brought a spare set of ... ear plugs.

Hotels in Geneva ar all expensive . There is precious little to be had under CHF 250 / night ( plus plus taxes) for the business traveller in the middle of town.

If you search around the various travel sites and you can get the Kempinski for something under 340 – 350 franks then consider the offer carefully. You will get genuine Swiss quality service, excellent restaurants, a lovely location and lets be honest, they do pamper you .

The rooms are fitted out with classically Swiss high quality furnishings and the bathrooms are large enough to hold a small party in!

If you have the choice of paying 300 CHF for very basic and rather poorly located accommodation only a kilometre or so away in the depths of Paquis, or paying about 10% more and having a bit of luxury and comfort for once, then think about it carefully,

I went to a conference at the Grand Hotel Kempinski, but stayed at the Novotel Geneve Centre, which is not on the lake, but is three blocks away and I paid half the price. I can't comment of the hotel rooms, but the conference room is nice. I can also say that Javaclub, the dance club downstairs is amazing and well worth it.
