“Porcelain”
Reviewed October 24, 2013

If you are interested in porcelain, you should visit this museum. It has displays to explain the different techniques and glazes as well as comparing similar porcelain and pottery from different countries.

Very attractive museum near the UN , it dispays ceramics in a very interesting way, putting together similar styles of different ceramic factories. Very well displayed.

“Peace on the Avenue de la Paix”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

I had 20 minutes to spare and decided to visit this museum since I was in the vicinity. The signs advertising free entry to the permanent exhibition helped make up my mind.

The permanent exhibition takes up two floors of this large almost palatial building. I'm not exactly into ceramics and glassware but the museum has a wonderful array of exhibits that are tastefully arranged. Most signage is in French but there is some explanation in English and maybe more was available at the information desk. From decorated plates and tableware to exquisiteIy decorated decanters and cut crystal, the range and extent of the exhibition was such that I could have spent longer there and would not have minded paying for the temporary exhibits, one of which I caught a glimpse of.

The museum is set in some lovely grounds and gardens that can also be enjoyed if the weather is suitable. It is virtually across the road from the Red Cross/Red Crescent museum reviews of which should be consulted before visiting.

“attractions”
Reviewed September 26, 2013

The museum seems to be free if you want to stay on the first floor and see that exhibit. Soon there will be sculptures by a Seattle artist but we saw glass and porcelain dishes. Helpful and friendly front entrance staff.
