I would recommend this museum. I went with the idea in my mind that i would be thoroughly bored but i was nearby (it's near to the Russian church and the musee modern) and thought i'd give it a go.

The pieces were extremely well presented and printed descriptions all the pieces in each room are available in French, English and Chinese. pieces are placed across many beautiful rooms and several floors, beginning with ceramics and ending in things like ornate swords, traditional belt hangings and related carvings.

Admission was Fr5 for their main exhibit and another Fr5 for the guest display (this time on ornate Peruvian and Guatemalan jewelry) (about £6.50 total)

The Baur is focused on Chinese and Japanese ceramics and some paintings or prints. Within that scope it has quite a lot of quite lovely pieces, well worth a few hours of study.

This museum was very well maintained and organised... Descriptions were available in both English and French.

They have a huge collection of Chinese porcelain, and a reasonable collection of Japanese porcelain, Japanese katanas, a samurai suit, tea ceremony artifacts.

I spent over 3 hours at the museum (for 14 rooms, remember that number as the whole time I was unsure when it'd end!), but I recommend a shorter stay of around 2 hours.

This museum is the best one to show us Chinese and Japanese art (especially porcelain ware) in Europe. The China ware shown this museum cannot be seen in Beijing!

Located in one of the best place in Geneva, and housed in a beautiful house, the Baur Museum is showing great Asian pieces.
Not only the pieces are very unique, but the way they are being displayed makes touring this museum a very enjoyable experience: not to be missed by whoever likes art!
