“Outstanding Service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 27, 2007

An outstanding hotel with exceptional service from the moment you check in. The staff cannot do enough for you. They also cater surprisingly well for children with good menu's available. The food is excellent, room service quick. Only minor fault I can think of was they got our eggs order slightly wtong, both mornings. Apart from that, it is difficult to find anything short of five star for this hotel.

Just back froma quick business stay at the Four Seasons. Hotel in good position close to the lake. Very attractively decorated and furnished. Staff friendly and attentive. Food generally very good, especially the desserts/pastries.
However I had a few niggles:-
1) Luggage took a long time (20mins+) to arrive
2) Asked for a sewing kit which promised but which failed to arrive -had to phone again.
3) Air conditioning in room poor - room too hot
4) Room overlooked staff entrance and rubbish area (so not the best of views) - was woken up by sound of rubbish being cleared at 7AM.

Very good otherwise and up with the best which magnified the deficiencies above all the more.

  • Liked — Quality of furnishings/decor, pleasant staff
  • Disliked — Room too hot, service niggles

Stayed here for two days and had a lovely time. The hotel is beautifully decorated, both in the public areas and in the rooms and the service was impeccable. The breakfast was sumptuous with a wide variety of food to suit virtually every palate and utterly attentive staff who really did aim to please. You felt that nothing was too much trouble.

Our room was not ready when we arrived which was slightly irritating but not earthshaking and we were offered a drink while we waited. The room could be a bit larger, the armchair in the room seemed quite small, the remote control was fiddly but these are minor details and on the whole it was a fantastic experience- right up there with the very best in Europe

No contest from anything else in town...

The old Les Breuges is now a real European gem, one of the most beautiful and important locations in Europe, right at the head of lake Geneva. Wonderful!

Just another example of the amazing "Four Seasons era" we live in...

  • Liked — everything
  • Disliked — flawless
  • Tips/Secrets — as with any Four Seasons, expensive! The suites are crazy expensive but better value, in a way.

We spent a weekend at the FS Geneva in September. This really is a superb hotel. One review likened it to the InterContinental Le Grand in Paris, and you can see his point. They have kept the facade but basically destroyed everything inside - to all intents and purposes, this is a brand new property. Both hotels seem to have used the same architect and designer.

Our Deluxe room was not the largest, with (like a modern Hyatt) the bathroom taking up a disproportionately large amount of space. The photo on the website of the blue themed decoration is accurate, although the room on the website photo seems more like a junior suite to me. Our room overlooked a courtyard to the side, although from the bed we had a view of the lake. The quality of all of the furnishings and fittings was exceptionally high.

Good things: Acqua di Parma toiletries galore (we brought home 5 x 75ml bottles and a soap!), separate shower, loo with a door, massive plasma TV with over 50 channels, superb staff (as expected), beautiful flowers, free use of the business centre (could just have been a weekend thing, though), absolutely stonking location.

Bad things: breakfast on Saturday was a disaster - no buffet, all a la carte but based around 5 themed breakfasts, and the waitress had no clue what was meant to be coming to us. At one point I had to go to find a menu to see what we should be getting to compare it to what had arrived. Sunday was OK, though. Cleaner once entered room despite 'do not disturb' sign. And, at 8am on Sunday morning, they decided to bring an ironing board to my room for no good reason at all (I kid you not).

The deluxe rooms are fantastic value for money. We paid SFR 650 per night (about £280) which included SFR 100 of breakfast credit. The junior suites seem poor value in comparison - SFR 1,450 for a non-substantially-bigger room. I've knocked off a star because you pay for a flawless experience at FS and they did not entirely deliver, but this really is a fantastic property.

  • Liked — Everything is of the highest quality
  • Disliked — Nothing - although it helps if you like blue walls!
  • Tips/Secrets — If you can afford it, stay here - you cannot go wrong
