“A quaint and lovely restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 3, 2013

This cute restaurant is decorated with Swiss memorabilia and in red and white with wood panels . It is located at the train station periphery and was recommended to us by one of the locals. They served cheese fondue which was tasty and not pricy. The beef steak was tender and delicious and our orders came in generous portions. The restaurant personnel were very attentive and prompt.

“Charming restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 2, 2013

This restaurant is situated in the Paquis area which is not the most “reputable” area of Geneva with its drug dealers and ladies of the night displaying their ware. However, the areas has a very wide variety of ethnic restaurant including “Au petit chalet”. It has a Swiss traditional decor and feel about it that contributed to its charm and overall dining experience. It is close (walking distance 2 mn) to Cornavin railway station and other public transport such as buses and tramways.
It has a very wide menu of traditional Swiss dishes from fondue to raclette. It is a busy and popular restaurant but the waiting staff are really friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. All dishes were reasonably priced unlike some restaurants on the Geneva lake front!!
The only downside: gaining a few pounds on the waste line!
Over all a most enjoyable experience

“prepare to lose your purse/ iphone”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 10, 2013

This was recommended but I have no idea why. Fondue was tasteless I could not eat it. Cheese fondue was lousy. The raclette was good but arrived as we were done! Thats not even the worst part. We were at the inside table yet someone pretending to sell stuff STOLE MY IPHONE from our table and the owner/manager did not do a thing.

They said they warned people seated along the road and did not warn us cuz we were seated on the inside corner table. Duh! Obviously they should warn everyone if those thieves got to us. Unless of course they had something to do with those people who sell who shld not be anywhere roaming in their premises anyway. And oddly enough their cctvv camera was not able to catch it

“Raclette is recommended”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 28, 2013

This is close to the rail station and to where we stay. The restaurant is decorated in the style of traditional Swiss Alpine atmosphere and is quite comfortable, offering both indoor and outdoor spaces. If you want to taste the traditional dishes, this is where you won't get your wallet emptied. The price is relatively cheap and very reasonable by Geneva standard. We tried the bacon fondue and the raclette. The fondue is so and so. The raclette is limited to 3 helpings of cheese, unlike some other restaurants which offer unlimited all-you-can-eat (the cheese only, not the meat, don't askt). But 3 helpings are pretty enough for a dinner. The portion of dry cured meat that comes with the raclette is generous and this can feed a normal adult. On the contrary, the "bacon" fondue only has tiny cosmetic bits of bacon mixed into the melted cheese. Very unsatisfying for a meat eater, considering that the prices for the 2 dishes are similar.

“Great fondu”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

This is a great restaurant in the centre of Geneva, with an outdoor eating area and they serve great Fondu's. The food was well presented and the staff knew the menu well and were able to talk about the options and gave good service. Good drinks selection.
