We decided to have a look at this museum as we were close by and it was raining. It turned out to be an excellent decision. If you have an interest in the Reformation, or history in general, this is well-worth a visit. The cost is 13 francs per person and seemed very good value. There is a free audio guide available which provides an informative and interesting commentary on the various displays. You probably need to allow about two hours to do this justice.

Plan to have at least 2 hours here. More if you want to learn more. The audioguide was good, and only museum we visited where it is free! Some exhibits were quite creatively done. Won't spoil your excitement here. Photos not allowed. I enjoyed the hymn playing room most.

While the static exhibits are presented in the French language I obtained an English language audio guide which was very useful in understanding the very detailed presentations. The displays were of the highest standard rarely seen elsewhere, and I am a museum nut! For instance with the audio guide you listen in to a dinner debate held by Jean Calvin and his peers on the core concepts of Christianity. Another fascinating exhibit was an LED Tv dislay of the various branches of the Christian religion in the USA showing each branch's core tenets, with its membership number and distribution across a map of the USA. My only regret on leaving the museum is that there was no paper copy of the latter presentation to walk away with.

A very creative way to teach about the Reformation. If you have any interest in the history of Christianity, this is worth the visit. A combo ticket also gets you to the top of St. Pierre's Towers along with an Archaeological Site exhibit. Worth the price.
