This is not a particularly visual tour and the queuing and waiting in order to get in will only be worth it if you already from the start are keen enough on the subject to know that you will enjoy the visit. You will get the history of the UN in Geneva and that of some of the buildings. You will be able to say that you visited the UN and there are some nice photo opportunities. But do not expect anything special. In fact, the square in front of the main entrance where the "Broken chair" and the fountains is probably just as interesting. The neighbouring ICRC museum is more worthwhile of a visit.

We walked up by the lake and gardens and then up the road to see the UN. Got our photo taken outside and walked back. Great to saw we've been there!

The palais des nations is located outside the city centr Anything you add will give travelers a more complete picture of your experience here.
Is there a fee for this attraction?e, but easily reachable by tram or bus. If you are interested in world politics, or just want to see the large building, it's definitely an interesting place to visit. There are (I think obligatory) guided tours in different languages. The guides are happy to answer your questions and will show around in the older and newer parts of the building, including the big rooms where they hold the meetings.
