“Very Good Italian Fare in Geneva”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

I have been going to the Milan for about 25 years but in the last couple of years it has changed drastically and for the better! On my last visit, the food was quite good. I got the Veal Saltimbocca a la Romana and we had an excellent bottle of Barbera d'Alba. Their wines are pretty much Italian and the list is quite good. The prices have risen since the changes occurred, but while the prices increased, so has the quality. Very good Italian fare in Geneva.

Dear Jezuzek,

Thank you for your nice comments about le Milan. You are right while talking about the rising prices. We did not rise them a lot but every ingredient at le Milan is fresh from the market. No frozen food nor can food. Those ingredients are more expensive but help us giving the best of the best to our clients. I'm glad you appreciated your meal and thanks again for your nice comments!
All the best,
Daniel

“Very good food decent value for Geneva”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Ate inside about 7pm when they were not busy. Service was slow and that is too be expected in a nice European place. The wine advice was good and we found an Italian merlot. They have great bread but no bread plates. So we were holding our bread and trying to butter it. A waiter came to change the silverware and looked at us as if it was our fault we had no plates to work with. Got that same disapproving look when we asked for a picture of tap water to go along with our food and wine. All the food was excellent. Really good Italian entrees. Lamb was outstanding. A bit of a wait to get the check, but all in all a great dining experience. Don't be put off but the street of restaurants around it, Milan has a lot to offer.

Dear advisorj,

If I remember well, that night you arrived before the restaurant was opened. We start the service at only 6:45 PM. Regarding the bread plates, we do not provide them automatically like in some fancy restaurants, but we had no problems to give each of you on dish.
I'm glad after this little start on the wrong way you appreciated our cuisine. It will be a pleasure to receive you again but please make sure to ask for bread plates when you arrive :)
Thanks for your great review and I will make sure next time you have all wished fulfilled.

Thanks again and all the best,
Daniel

“nice Italian food and wines”
Reviewed April 27, 2013

Close to the station, has a very reasonable daily special over lunch and nicely arranged tables (including a street-side terrace like all the eating places in this street) in the evening. Pasta was cooked to perfection, Primitivo delicious and dessert choices are aplenty.
I've been going to Le Milan since the early 60's but this is the first time I wrote a review about it. Very good price/quality relationship.

“Fantastic Italian Restaurant in Geneva”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

As the title says. Thoroughly enjoyable meal. Great service, food and value for money (as far as Geneva goes). When we visited, it was a bit on the quieter side, perhaps if you appreciate ambience more, then go when it is peak time! We went around 7pm. Restaurant became busy from 8.30pm onwards :-). Oh and I recommend the Canneloni. One of the best I have ever had! Well done!

Dear Jagdip,
Thank you very much for your comment.
As you said, the restaurant is very quiet from 7PM-8:30PM. If clients want a very busy atmosphere, they should book a table for 9PM. Unfortunately, it will be difficult to have a table after 9PM without a reservation.
I'm glad you appreciate your visit at Le Milan!
Sincerely,
Daniel

“Enjoyable evening meal”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

We had an enjoying evening meal at the the Milan Restaurant. Not wanting to experiment, we ordered roquette salad, carpaccio, pasta, dessert. Everything was beautifully and simply presented and, most imprtantly, fresh. I took some Sicilian house white wine with the meal that was also excellent.
When we ate at the MIlan, it was a cool winter/spring evening and so the terrace was closed (apart from a few smokers in overcoats.) The atmosphere in the restaurant was great - it is always pleasant to be in restaurant when everyone around is evidently enjoying themselves.
My only down note was that the pesto sauce was very rich (butter?) and so a light meal felt like a solid meal for a while afterwards. I am generally a light eater and so my impression may not be everyone's.
All in all, I can highly recommend the Milan for a nice evening out. There is a conventient (and cheap) parking at the railway station just a few minutes walk from the restaurant.
