Description: The cellar restaurant Valaisanne & Chalet Switzerland, Dumoulin family owned since 1960, is located in the heart of the city of Geneva, surrounded by the Victoria Hall, the Grand Theatre, the Music Conservatory, the Bastions Park and its monument Reformation. This has the distinction of offering typical and 4 different settings: Swiss Chalet, Brasserie, Swiss Village and Carnotzet. Added to this is during the summer, the terrace shaded by plane trees. So every customer does not feel squashed in the middle of the large crowd. The high flow ensures the best quality and freshness of the dishes served. Swiss wines are honored and come, mostly French-speaking cantons. La Cave Valais is known for its many types of fondue and raclette especially raw milk. What is less known is that the card is one of the most varied and provided our beloved Geneva basin. Although logically say typical specialties take center stage, there remains many specialties and bar meals made the reputation of the institution (sauerkraut zürcher geschnetzeltes home with rosti, etc ...) . Not to mention that the two dishes of the day are served at lunchtime are renewed every day and served with a green salad or homemade soup (your choice). Through our various salads into our pasta dishes, menus or stopping on our perch fillets, the supply is diversity in appointments and everything is cooked by a skilled team.

This restaurant has a very old-fashioned feel, but in a dated way. The service was acceptable, the house red wine was a bit tart, and the food was edible but rather bland. The dessert menu consists solely of Carte D'Or frozen desserts, which was disappointing. Hope this is not a true reflection of Swiss cuisine!

With a great atmosphere, Cave Valaisanne really fill our measures of what we expected of a swiss restaurant. The room was very cosy and the waiters very friendly. We ate fondue bourguignon and raclettes and everything was excelent. The peach ice cream with liquor summed up a great evening. It is a restaurant to be recommended. Be prepared, nevertheless, for a pricey meal.

I visited Cave Valaisanne et Chalet Suisse in april 2013. It's amazing but in Geneve was not so many restaurants which specialize in raclette! And Cave Valaisanne is one of them. Warm athmosphere, suisse cuisine, good food. What more needed for tired traveler!

If you want to have a cosy swiss meal and ambience, it's definitely the place to go. You can order 4 different type of Fondue. All 4 are good, acording to your preferences. I highly recomment that you make a reservation for that place, espacialy if you go the evening .

This used to be a good address with typical dishes. Last time I went, the food was not as good as it used to be: The "gratin dauphinois" had crude potatoes, the sausage was too much grilled. Only the raclette and the fondue my guests had were ok... but it is only "melted cheese"..
I hope they will take some steps to improve.!
