Would be better In summer when roses out but the spring flowers were very pretty, and great views of the city of Bern. Also the restaurant is very attractive – one can sit outside or inside depending on the weather.

This is the best spot to have a look over the old town of Bern. The garden has many varieties of roses, but also a nice field where people lay under the sun, a playground and a restaurant open from breakfast to late night. The restaurant has also a beautiful terrace with a panoramic view. On the stoney path that connects the garden with the city centre there's a statue of Einstein, who lived in Bern from 1902 to 1909 with some space on the bench so that people can seat with him and take a selfie. Highly suggested as the start or the end of your visit in Bern since you can take remarkable pictures from here thanks to its position.
If you like the beatiful view over the old city of Bern, thats the place to go. If you are not to hungry, thats the place to go, as portion size is not in relation to the price - but - the quality of the food was fine and the service as well
We went there by walk at the end of march and really enjoy our walk and the scenery of old city.
In the march there is no roses there but still green and beautiful.
There is a cafe restaurant with a wide range menu with excellent view in its tracce .
There are benches and tables for free in the garden.
You can bring some food or drinks as locals do.
Great place for taking good photos and enjoy sun shine.
Great view over Bern, you can sit and drink a coffee or just walk around the garden. Whatever you do, the view is worth it.
Walked to this site today from our hotel and the views were over Bern were spectacular. There was a light sprinkling of snow over the gardens too. Unfortunately due to the season there were no roses however the views made up for it. We also had a hot drink at the restaurant/ cafe at the gardens, also very nice.
