Went there at the end of february, during a cold snap. The room and bathroom were very warm, no complaints there. :)
The rooms are newly-renovated (it actually still smelled of renovation in the hotel). The bathroom was a bit dated, but ok. There is a fridge on the corridor for guests and they offer you 2 x 0.5 L bottles of water on arrival.
The breakfast was standard continental, nothing warm, there was just enough variety to it. I have to admit the staff were more than nice, they offered me breakfast each morning at around 6:45, which was extraordinary, as I had to be in town each day at a bit past 7.
The free local transportation ticket was a nice touch, which offsets the tourist tax. It's even valid on the Gurtenbahn (a must when in Bern).
With the 9 tram (2 mins away) you get to the central train station in 9 minutes, there's a coop supermarket 3 mins away and there's a few restaurants/bars in the vicinity.More
