Owner description: Once the apartment of Albert Einstein, it was here where the great scientist developed the theory of relativity in the first decade of the 20th century.

For devotees of Einstein, this is a must-see attraction in Bern. The price was 6 CHF, which was worth seeing Einstein's home (for the scientists in our group). The street itself is very pleasant, so walking over to Einsteinhaus and strolling along his street may be sufficient for folks who want to breathe the same air as the genius. For a more comprehensive understanding of Einstein's life, I recommend the Einstein museum in the Bern Historical Museum.

The apartment itself is rather quickly seen. As many reviewers said, it's just a room with some furniture from the beginning of 1900's. Most of the signs are in German, but some do have text also in English. Upper floor has comprehensive timeline of dr. Einstains history and film in German. At the entrance no euros are accepted except if you happen to have the exact sum and no CHFs.

Even though there is not much to see, it was a breathtaking to think that under the same sealing one of the greatest revealings of the structure of the universe was realized. Stopping by the windows and thinking that the great Einstein has done the same whilst struggling with the new science he was working on.

Berns old town is very nice, and well worth a visit. I would recommend visiting Einstein exhibition at Berns Historical museum and let this small flat be a nice curiosity in addition to that.

We were very excited to see the "Einstein House" but there is nothing much to see there. Just one small room which has the furniture of his time, rest there is a movie hall showing his story, Nothing much, save you money for better things.

I am a Chemist and my colleague with whom I was travelling is a Physicist. Hence, we were quite curious about this site. The flat itself was interesting simply because it was in the old section of Bern. The ground floor is a coffee shop. To get to the museum on the second and third floors, we needed to climb a narrow stair case. The person who collected our money was very friendly, very knowledgeable and very informative. The second floor portrayed the living conditions for Einstein and his family with some original furniture on display. This was not remarkable but the third floor contained a series of displays that detailed his life and work. These were well done as was the film depicting the critical events of his life. I learned quite a lot and thought it was worth the 6 CHF entry fee.

If you want to learn more about Einstein, go to the Historic museum of Bern. The Einstein house does not offer too much. Basically what you can see there is where he lived. His parlour and office are furnished in the style of the century he lived in. On the second floor, there is just more information about him as well as his pipe and a few clothes and shoes of Mileva, his wife (she had very big feet from what I saw).

Overall, not a bad experience but nothing much either.
