Last Thursday we had a business lunch at Kunsthalle. Apart from the somewhat questionable interior (container look) the service was far below what one could expect for this place. The lunch was based on a set menue to choose from. The waitor who's english was pretty poor, started to ask "if anyone does not want the salad" when a pumpkin soup was also available - not very inviting. You wonder what was behind the question as all took the pumpkin soup. One dish was "beef tartar" which was served plain. As two geuests asked if they could get french fries or toast bread (whichis the common way to serce this dish) the answer was "no". Quite surprising answer. Next disappointment was that the parmesan cheese served with the pasta was covered with green mold. The waitor brought cheese without mold but did not apologize nor did he offer to replace the pasta which accidently already been covered with the "moldy" cheese. Interesting concept of service playing with people's health. In general the waitors were totally ignorant regarding customer satisfaction and did not react when to guests hardly finished their steak which was hard like stone. To finish up the story, a red wine was served when a chardonnay was ordered. I know of White merlot but red Chardonnay anyone? Can really not recommend this place.
