Went here on a recent weekend to Basel. The entrance was free with our Baselcard (get it at the tourist office). The museum is well set up. You have a nice history at the beginning and then you proceed to see the artwork. The art isn't always on because they want to preserve it, so you have to be smart about how fast or slow you walk behind other people. The museum isn't too big, so it is not tiring. It also seems to be a very interesting place for children.
