The hotel could not have been in a better location to walk and explore the old town. Every staff member was knowledgable and friendly. They went out of their way on several occasions. We did not go for the one of the art rooms but ours was spacious and nice. Only comment was that we faced the front of the hotel and there were some loud people out in the courtyard. The breakfast was superb. Best croissants I have ever had. Melt in your mouth and light!

This is a fantastic hotel on the edge of the old city in a quiet neighbourhood. It's a five to 10 minute minute walk down to the main square and the Rhine. It is close to the train station also. The hotel has tons of atmosphere and a stylish, quirky edge. The rooms are large and bright, the staff very friendly and knowledgable. We only ate in the Atelier Restaurant (not the fine dining restaurant) but the food was excellent (lots of locals seem to frequent the hotel) and to top it off - they brew their own beer on site! You've got to stay here if you are coming to Basel.

We are located in old town with free passes to transit in front of hotel and walking out the other side you access the walking district. Free wifi. We are in a junior suite with great bathroom and 2 rooms one with king bed and the other is a queen sofa/futon and rollaway. Free coffee and waters. Restaurant bar was great for quiet drink, soups and cheese meat platter.

Location was convenient to walking in the old city. Our lovely room was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was very good. Eggs were prepared according to request. Unfortunately, we could not have dinner in the restaurant because it was booked for a function. The service was excellent.

Its a great boutique 3-star hotel greatly located. The Art rooms are spacious and greatly decorated. The breackfast which is included is rich and the building an old greatly refurbished one. The negative part is that the reception is understaffed and that its very difficult to load and unload your luggages if you are with a car. Also there is no elevator if you got a room in the Art Building. Otherwise the best 3-star hotel in town. I had Art room 8 which was gorgeous
