Very good accommodation allied to excellent food made for a great stay. We were here for 7 nights and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The room was very clean and comfortable. We had visited for a meal a few years ago and can honestly say the standard of food was how we remembered it. All in all, a relaxed and comfortable stay and would recommend heartily to anyone thinking of staying in the area.

Brilliant food, accommodation, service and great host. Would highly recommend. We arrived to a welcoming host who showed us to a clean, beautiful room. On the first night we ate a fantastic evening meal and the following morning had an equally delicious breakfast. The host cathy was so very friendly and helped us out by lending my man a black tie for our visit to burgh island hotel. Great place. Would highly recommend

We have just returned from a four night stay here and as the title suggests we wished we could have stayed longer. We stayed in the garden room which had all the facilities you would expect, was spotlessly clean and had a sitting area outside. A particular mention for the shower which was amongst the best I've come across on my travels as it was both large and powerful! The owners and their team were all fabulous and run a slick operation in a very friendly and efficient manner. We loved the pub downstairs with it's beautiful flowers outside and cosy bar inside. Breakfast was superb, everything was laid out on the table so there was no scrambling at a communal buffet. There is a good choice of cereals, toast made with really good bread and a cooked breakfast with quality ingredients. We ate in the evening on a couple of occasions, once in the bar and once outside as it was a gorgeous night, and both felt that all of the food was of a high standard. My husband had an enormous steak and ale pie on one night which he loved and I especially enjoyed the scallops with pea puree and strawberry salsa to start. The service was excellent at all times. If you want a fantastic pub with really good rooms, in beautiful surroundings, with brilliant service and lovely food then you won't go far wrong at The Tradesman's Arms. Thanks to Cath and team for an enjoyable and memorable stay!

We had the misfortune to be put on a table with a view of the back end of the bar - cleaning products, dishwasher etc, and within earshot of staff conversations about bill errors. I have a personal dislike of pubs and restaurants who have taken their cue from watching Masterchef, and so serve food on flat slates, with little individual pots of vegetables. This makes eating so much harder than a proper plate, especially when gravy is involved. Despite these small gripes, all was bearable until dessert arrived. Sticky toffee pudding with a twist, or should that be sticky toffee pudding with a skid? See photo for details.

We won't be returning.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch at this pub and were lucky enough to have the roast lamb and it was beautiful and a generous portion size.
Have eaten here a few times as local and has been consistent which is nice to know the standard of the food is always good.
The service was great and friendly without being over the top.
Would recommend to any one who enjoys good food at good prices.
Thank you all for another nice lunch.
