My small group recently visited this olive oil mill just outside the historic center of Perugia. Unfortunately, we were a little early for olive picking season, but we were able to see all the equipment and get a nice explanation of how it all works. Our host Alessandro then showed us a DVD showing the equipment in action. We did have an English translator with us which made things easier to understand. After learning about the olive oil making process, we were treated to bruschette hot off the grill in the showroom fireplace. Each toasty slice of bread was drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with salt. It was oh-so-delicious and of course encouraged us to make purchases. The Trampolini family was very kind and generous and made us feel very welcome. I look forward to a return visit!
