This is a really nice hotel located just down the hill from Perugia's center. Easy to get up to the center because there is a series of escalators. Quiet, good rooms and helpful staff. Coffee in the breakfast room needs to be better.

Just come back from spending 6 nights here.

The room was a good size, the bed comfortable, it was clean and the wifi worked.

The reception desk were very helpful.

The location on the Piazza Partigani can be a bit noisy with the window open. You are at the bottom of the hill but it is two minutes from the escalators so you can be up top in the Piazza Italia in 8-9 minutes (timed it) with no effort!

the location is very convenient for getting buses either to Assisi or to the railway station

my only issue is that breakfast was merely average. there was variety but coffee and tea came out of a machine and they weren't that quick on keeping croissants and scrambled eggs topped up.

Oh and my gripe against every Italian hotel I've stayed in. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room....

that said it is a good place to stay for visiting Umbria

After studying trip advisor for hotels in Perugia, we decided on Sangallo Palace because it had wonderful reviews, was near the town center, and cost a fraction of the cost of the Brufani Palace. We were wonderfully surprised to find a great hotel. Our greeting was over the top. We got lost finding the entrance so Umberto came to our rescue, got in our car, and showed us the way. He and Sandro continued to give us directions and excellent restaurant recommendations. Our room was a good size but i did notice there are rooms with a small terrace for next time. There was a flat screen TV with several CNN and bBc stations. There is a pool and gym which our friends liked but i didn't go there. breakfast was good; it included salad which I enjoy since salads are so pricey in Italy. I also wanted Decaf which they brought to me since the machine only makes caffeinated coffee. The hotel is located midway down the hill and near these interesting escalators that take you to the top. At the top, you walk through excavated ruins of the city before you exit to the center.

We booked a 2-night stay in this hotel based on high Trip Advisor ratings and were very glad that we had. The hotel is a moderately large one, just on the edge of the old city and, unusual for a city hotel in Italian cities,, very easy to find by car. It is located a half block from the start of the famous escalator system of Perugia which whisks you up to the top of the hill on which the city is located in a very short time with minimal effort. The room was very generous in size, very well-appointed and very confortable - it even had 2 desk chairs for the large modern desk area in front of the window, so that both my wife and I could use our computers/ipads, etc., at the same time at the desk. The WiFi was free and very fast, and appeared to work well all throughout the hotel, including our room, the lobby, breakfast room, etc. The hotel has a nice indoor pool and a gym. The breakfast was quite varied and very good.

A word about the staff - they could not have been more helpful and more friendly! Each member of the staff went out of his/her way to make us feel welcome and at home. In fact, after we lost the parking ticket for our car in the underground garage next door (very convenient) a staff member called the parking attendant and arranged for us to find the car and check out easily, and just as I had completed working through the arrangements with the attendant the manager on duty came running down to the garage to make sure everything had gone well. Later, when we were starting to pull away from the hotel the desk clerk came running after our car to see if an item found at the hotel belonged to us (it hadn't) - I was amazed and impressed!

We will definitely stay at the Sangallo Palace Hotel next time we are in Perugia.

Room Tip: All rooms seem to have very good views.

This hotel is in a great location, almost at the base of the escalators that take you up into the town's historic centre through the remains of Rocca Paolina which was a 16th-century fortress. The hotel is bright and clean with great views and breakfast was excellent. The front desk staff were extremely friendly. Definitely recommended!

The hotel is easy to find and centrally located within short walking distance to the old town.
It is surrounded by streets and therefore not very quiet.
It is more the type of business hotel. You have everything you need, but may be the charm of
a small hotel is missing. People are very nice, helpful and friendly.
Bread at breakfast was missing. Fruit juices out of the machine were brackish.

Room Tip: We had a room to the round about which was quite noisy. Ask for quiet room

We are very pleased that, with the help of Trip Advisor, we' ve chosen to stay for four nights in this hotel. We have asked for a room facing the round-about in 4th floor. We were given room 410, a very nice, quiet, large enough room with an excellent view. Our stay was very pleasant.
A good hotel, in a very convenient location particularly if you have a car with you, because there is parking space, and you are just outside of the car free historic centre. In any case you only have to walk for 150-200 m. and public escalators will bring you up in the veru historic centre. Very good buffet breakfast.
